considering 9-5 is the norm for the business world, you really shouldn't consider 8:30 to 5 long.

Becomes a daily part of life eventually

well i don't exactly consider it long.. just that next week i'm loaded with summatives and tests and i don't even want to be there tomorrow -_- i got some stupid relief placement so i probably won't even work more than 10 days the entire summer

You'll be getting paid for your training tomorrow, so it'll be worth it. I worked in North York for summer camp (pretty much the same as Scarborough). Tomorrow might include First Alert training (or it might come in the later session). The training sessions are pretty boring, if you have friends with you, it'll make it better. IMO, North York training was much better, we only had 2 days of training whereas you guys will have a whole week later on.

Don't have any other specifics for what goes on, it was a long time ago =P

what job did you get hired for?

most likely training will not go that long, ours usually end early.

depends on your job, but training could include whmis, going over the workers' handbook, etc. first alert has always been a seperate thing altogether when i've done it.

just went today.. turns out they had basically 8 main things to go over and each section took about an hour or so.. wasn't that bad, but there's going to be a full week of training at the end of june ): one day isn't so bad but 5 consecutive days? :|

anyway my first alert program is on june 23rd.. anybody been to one of these before? they didn't really talk about what we were going to do there today, the program is supposed to go on for 4 hours

First Alert deals with safety issues, how to work with co-workers, and how to deal with people with special needs. Most boring 4 hours ever, but you get paid.
