Hey gang, here's a scenario for y'all...

If a seller sells a computer, stating in the features section that the computer would be eligible for a Vista Upgrade because the manufacturer has advised him it would be, only to find after you've paid and taken delivery that the computer is in fact not eligible for the upgrade, what recourse can the buyer in this scenario expect? If he contacts the seller and the seller says that "I can't do nothing, that's what I was told when I called the manufacturer before selling the computer, I wasn't none the wiser", would that change anything?

In many cases, warranties and special offers are VOID if you are not the original purchaser. Do your homework before you buy.

That said, you can always ask the seller to order the upgrade for you.

Never take a stranger's word for it. Ask the seller to provide some sort of written confirmation from the manufacturer that the product is indeed eligible for a free upgrade.

Don't worry though, Vista is a piece of junk.
