Has anyone had experience with "Emerald Club" from Naitonalcar.com? Where you can bypass the counter and goto the "Emerald Aisle" and select any car and then drive through the kiosk. Have to of booked a medium size car to be eligible.

I see a FREE sign up for the Emerald Club ($50 fee waived) but when I enter all the information it says my credit card will be charged $50.

I tried calling but there office is closed.

Thanks in advance.

I signed up for free and was never charged.

Emerald Isle is only available in certain locations. It's never been a factor for me.

The real benefit is the Airmiles / Aeroplan.

Emerald Club is free.
AirMiles and Aeroplan points are given at a 50 cent a day surcharge. From their site "National charges a Frequent Flyer Service Charge in the amount of $.50 per day for qualifying rentals in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico when renters choose to receive Frequent Flyer miles or credits." How dumb is that?
Also, I have had trouble several times while using National/Alamo (out of Canada) and no longer deal with them.
