Its best to buy a GSM phone (unlocked or locked to fido) off your own from this forum or ebay etc.
Just a quick comparison. Fido sell Moto Razr for $400 and you can pick it up for $100 on this forum (i got mine cheaper than that)

call them and ask, or even go to one of the kiosks,you can probably use your fido dollars and if you're close to renewing your contract you can probably get a good deal
