I am investigating the option of changing Gyms.

I currently pay about $100/month for family membership at the YMCA in Oshawa. Yeah…. Most people say that is a lot.. but it is the “plus” membership where towels are provided, and there is a separate changeroom where screaming kids aren’t allowed (must be 22 or over to enter).

I had a little time to kill yesterday and happened to be near Platinum Fitness… so I went in for a really quick tour. Pricewise… there were ok…. 300/yr each for my wife and I… and I could probably negotiate that down more.. but the big kicker is I am looking for a complete full-service gym… I want towel service… I want razors provided… I want soap and shampoo and all that stuff. I am willing to pay for it. If I can get what I want cheaper than the Y… I might change… but I mostly want to know if what I want is “out there” other than the Y.

Anyone have any idea?

Gyms that provide that kind of service aren't going to be cheaper than the Y give me a break, they're called country clubs.

You're paying $100 for the whole family??? That's a pretty good price...I'm paying $93 just myself at the Y

If you want "full service", then you should check out China Town.

hmmm..... it does seem like I have been married for an awfully long time..... :) ..but.. that isn't exactly what I have been looking for... although it could provide a good cardio workout....

Seriously though, if you want all that stuff, just buy a bench and some weights for your home gym.

Can try NRG in North Oshawa near the corner of Taunton and Simcoe. Or the new premier fitness at the 5 points mall.

As for "Full service" bud, you live in Oshawa, not Hong Kong.
