The wife got a parking ticket when she was in downtown Toronto. I have everything ready to mail out, but i'm not sure if I need to mail them the ticket as well (they ask for signature and check of a box) as they don't say anywhere on the ticket that it needs to be mailed back. I've written the ticket number on the cheque, but do I still need to mail in the physical ticket?

If I don't have to, then why do they ask me to sign it? I've made a copy of it for my own records...

Thanks!

Don't bother mailing it, just goto ANY bank and pay it there.. you don't even need an account with the bank. I did it at TD.

On the ticket it says it can not be paid at any financial institutions...

City of Toronto website (http://www.toronto.ca/parkingtickets/)

Please note: New computer-generated tickets cannot be paid at financial institutions or banks. Please refer to the above list of payment options.

You can't pay your tickets @ ANY BANK!

I tried once @ TD and they said no.

Just use on-line payment, an website should be typed on the back of the ticket and just pay by visa.

My dad had a ticket few year back (2-3 years?) at the time you can pay thru the bank, I dont know why you can't pay thru banks anymore =.='

Why on earth would you want to pay it? I had a parking ticket almost two years ago that I took the trial option on. No trial date scheduled yet! Worst I'll be looking at is an interest free delay on the same fine.

Great advice! Don't ever pay your parking or traffic tickets. Fight ever last one of them. If the trial date is beyond 8months past the offence date, the case will be thrown out!

Here is a great web site with lots of usefull info on how to proceed...

Sorry to bring up a long dead thread, but how do you know that the parking ticket is off your record?

I sent them a cheque and I can see that the cheque was cashed/processed. I don't want any surprises the next time we go to renew the registration, so is there a way to check that we're in the free and clear?

I basically don't want any record of tickets (parking or otherwise) to be on this car's record (it's not my car, it's my father-in-law's car and he's an anal retentive bastard who will freak out if he finds out).
