Sometimes they get it for really cheap. They get it for cost+some. My friend showed me b4 and it works out to be a bit more than half price. Markup on those things must be insane.

mark up for most electronics is 15-20% at full price if they are lucky.

there's little to no markup on ipods whatsoever. when i worked at FS, sony tv's didn't have much of a markup compared to something like a toshiba (20%+ sometimes).

if you shop around and do a PM, sometimes you can walk out with a better deal than an employee purchase on some items (employee discount at FS was cost+10%)
