A question Monster Freedom Hunter 2 for PSP

Is there anyone here that has played this game? If so I have a couple of questions.

In Pokke Farm you speak to a cat that says he would lend me an axe pick when I go on a mission. I'm now 4 missions into the game and I still don't have the pick. I see cracks all over the place but I am unable to mine them.

Also in one of the level 1 missions you have to bring back three popo tongues. The thing is these guys are at the top of the mountain with an elder dragon. How the heck am I suppose to get by this thing and finish the mission?

BTW I'm very new to this game. I never played part 1 and I hate RPG games. For some strange reason I gave this game a try and I'm enjoying it thus far.

before you go on the mission, you have to go to the store to buy it, and there are 2 kind of picks...make sure get the expensive one....it will last longer. cause it's so easy to break after use it for few times.

I purchased the iron pick but when I go on a mission I don't have it with me. I press square and nothing happens. I check my items list and it's not listed in there >:(

Also what are some good combos? Right now I'm only using the Giaprey Claws and I pretty much just keep hitting triangle. Also how do I fish? I tried fishing in the farm but I have never been able to catch anything.
