How do you know if u got the rsvp or not? I submitted a few days ago.. still haven't got any reply or confirmation yet.
I guess I'll be gettin the TTC Day Pass and just bus around during the night haha. I'm really looking forward to the CN tower thing tho.. it'll be my first official project with the 10-22!

i'm still waiting on the rsvp, i'm guessing didn't get it
i think day pass would be the better option if you don't want to look for parking going from zone to zone.
may try to see if i can borrow my uncle's 18-200VR

There is a good chance of getting a reservation during late hours.
if more people are interested we could make this our first RFD photographers event, what do you say?

Here is a tip, go to the website http://www.scotiabanknuitblanche.ca/home.html . then click on one of the zones - a, b c. then click on the tags on the map to read a description of the events.
there are some really interesting events and the more i read the more interested i get. Especially zone A which has all the events close-by seems very promising.

i'm definitely down for this. didn't make it out last year but there's lots happening this time.
this got my attention. clipped from this star article (http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/WhatsOn/article/260907):
At midnight and 2 a.m., catch a large assemblage of dancers doing the choreography from Michael Jackson's cult classic "Thriller" video.
see A here (http://www3.thestar.com/static/PDF/070927_nuit_blanche.pdf).

Taking pictures of Toronto at 3-4am from the top of CN-tower - now that's something that you can later on brag about to your grand kids. :)
The only way to really make the best of this event is if we were do it as a group. for practical reasons, first of all safety.

omg im going to have to carry my tripod with me all night... now if thats not a target on your back i dont know what is...
i think we should meet up somewhere.... safety reasons for sure.... for those of you who do send me a PM and i will try to organize it. festivities start at about 7ish so lets say we meet 9pm (if you want to meet) at somewhere nice and public. lets say Bay and Queen in the Timothys at the corner.
PM me if you are interested and i will post how many pple can show and names so that if its a flop you wont waste your time.
i will check at 3pm to post who will be available.

Just to let you know, i won't have Internet access during the day.
ryan has my phone number so he can text message me or call me.
I will be in downtown around 10pm, so if you guys are there we can meet up and move as a crew (safety in numbers).
hopefully i'll see you there guys.

I'm debating if I should bring my tripod down there all night.
Afterall, I'm sort of on a date...but like, I can't resist a good photo op at this event. I might just bring my SLR with hotshoe flash all night instead with a tripod.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but is that fog exhibit from last year not here this year? I missed this event last year and saw really cool pics from that fog in the park thingy. I looked on the maps on the site and couldn't find anything about it.

so it seems like there are only two people who want to meet up so i dont think this will work. i will try to be at the timothys at bay and queen by 10 and wait till 1020. see you there!

To those of you who are going or planning to go check out this great guide and map to Nuit Blanche. It has the top picks for each zone which seems helpful.

Good turnout over in Zone B & C, we walked from 11:30- 5:30 am! my lower body is now paying for it but it was amazing to see the city so lively at night.

Just got home from it.. didn't last long enough, I did go up to the CN tower though, the skypod's glass had too much reflection from the lights and crap from the inside so the pics didn't turn out that well, i'll post them on flickr and on rfd as well tomorow.

i liked the vibe of the city being more lively but the show itself was somewhat disappointing
zone C was really lively especially with all the pubs around the area as well..it was also a pot-fest...
didn't bring my tripod so there wasnt that many great shots. will post what i have tonight

its incredible how many photographers are out there. eversince the DSLR entry level cameras have been released the amount of people with them have exploded. Sat night I saw at least 1 out of every 20 people with one. Lots of camera clubs walking together as well. I would say 1 out of every 2 had some type of digital camera if not DSLR. I love seeing that. It shows that people are developing a love for it or at least enjoy it as much as we do. It was funny though every once in a while I would see some people with the DSLR and think about RFD and what gear you guys have, wondering hummm is that someone from the forum?

i had exactly the same thought!
i was really surprised how many people were lugging aroudn their tripods as well
its funny because everyone with a dslr sort of eye each other's gear when they pass by. i wanted to create some conversation with them but i was shy... :|
