What're peoples opinions of *Trusted Seller* being used in the thread title for ads?

I've noticed this a couple times, and it makes me smile.

At what point are we considering somebody a *Trusted Seller*? After 5trades....20trades...50?

What's the eligibility point?

Naturally seniority in Reg.Date/Post Count are irrelevant to a persons reputation in trades...so it has to be successful trades exclusively right?

Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

I use it, the reason why? been an rfd member for 5 yrs, and actively sold in the b/s/t during this time as well. To date I have thousands of transactions under my belt, approx 100+ in my rfd b/s/t and 100+ in my heatware (different transactions, approx 5-6 might be duplicate, but I try to avoid duplicates when possible). apart from rfd I trade on various other boards and have fb on there also, plus I have a physical storefront, + online store + sponsor posting on rfd :) But I started to use the term when others were leaving fb with that for me :) Just made sense.

I think in order to be deemed a trusted seller, you should have a solid background, 100+ transactions and some sort of assurance that youre not just here today and gone tomorrow.

i agree with you,however,i have seen people on this site,with 13 posts,and 2 heatware feedback
being told they are a "trusted seller"

I don't sell often or much, and there are many here at simply garage sale off items, unlike the Sponsored Sellers who sell regularly. IMO that's enough to show me as a buyer that since you have taken the time to become a sponsor here at RFD you are a 'trusted' seller.

I think that RFD allowing the BST forums to exist is a privilege for the members and not a right, so Admin should decide at which level of feedback/transaction a seller here should be 'trusted'.

Trying to administer stuff like that is too much to ask - lots of work, and people are going to complain.. where do you make the cut off?

Instead, why not just look the other way if users post comments like "10 posts and one trade.. change your title, jackass!" and let the forums take care of themselves. :)

Im not sure if my comment has anything to do with what you guys are talking about here, but... What happens when say admin gives a title of trusted seller to someone with 100+ feedback, than some noob joins the site with no feedback and 10 posts buys something off this so called "trusted seller" and gets scammed. Who's side is everyone going to take now? The noob who really did get scammed or the "trusted seller" with all this feedback and reputation. Obviously if it keeps happening with the same seller, people should catch on, but the one or two small noobs who get fried b/c they see this trusted seller are left on the end of a burning stick of poo. Dont get me wrong, I'm biased when doing trades if I see someone with a lot of positive fb and no negative. People should do their homework and research a seller/buyer, and if they have no feedback or if they feel something is wrong, than just dont sell/buy. Trust is hard to gain and maintain, but very very easy to go. rant over. :lol:
