Tehz's original For Sale thread: http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=496003
Just so everybody knows, I've paid Tehz $250 on Friday, Sep 28 as a first payment for the iPhone, with the balance of the purchase price to be paid upon receipt of the phone. He said he sent it the same evening by XpressPost however refused to provide a tracking number because according to him he sent the package from Mach's who accepted it for CanadaPost and they would email me the tracking number "when Canada Post picks up and scans the package". He kept changing the story about the phone itself, going from used to unused, saying that he only took it out of the box to unlock, then it was his uncle who unlocked it, then it was his girlfriend's uncle who unlocked it, etc. I've asked him some questions about himself and he said he's a 26 year old unemployed Chartered Accountant. When I asked him why his posts on another thread: http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/s...d.php?t=485192 indicated that he was 19 year old student, he said it was his younger brother who'd been using his account.
As of now, I haven't received the tracking info from Canada Post or anybody else. When I spoke to Tehz again on Mon Oct 1, and insisted that he sends me the tracking info or a scan of the shipping receipt, he said he couldn't because he "was in Vancouver" and wouldn't be returning to Edmonton until Wednesday. Then he said he'd get his girlfriend who was in Edmonton to walk over to Mach's and kept trying to send me some pictures of boxed iPhones as an apparent proof that he wasn't scamming me. Eventually he said his girlfriend would send me a picture of the receipt the same evening, then hours later when nothing arrived he said she'd do it "tomorrow".
Another RFD member who was interested in purchasing an iPhone from Tehz contacted me on MSN in an attempt to find out how my experience in dealing with Tehz was. We compared the info we have received from Tehz and it turns out that Tehz has given that member a phony reference, an MSN contact got.nub@gmail.com with MSN nickname "weeeee" which is curiously enough is the same "last name" that he has on his PayPal account.
Anyway, Tehz keeps changing his story, first it was one phone, then apparently he had 4, then he told the other member that he had 6. I hope noone else is scammed by this guy. I've filed a PayPal Dispute Resolution.
If, however, he turns out to be an honest trader and I get my iPhone, I will immediately post an apology and make sure to add a positive feedback, but as of now the chances of that seem slim to none.

Best possible guess at an address
3240 27 Ave NW
Edmonton, AB T6T 1P8
I'm pretty sure the postal code is valid, because he's used it to register two different domains. It resolves to 27 Ave. It also suggests he's too stupid to think of a fake postal code in his area.
================================================
He's been scamming for a while:

Did u talk to him? Like get in contact and ask him rather or not he shipped or not. If no, give him a due date then you file for a dispute. :)

Did u talk to him? Like get in contact and ask him rather or not he shipped or not. If no, give him a due date then you file for a dispute. :)
I've been talking to him since when I paid on Friday Sep 28, his story is constantly changing and the fact that he's been giving out fake references and a fake cell phone number is enough to trip the BS detector. Not to mention the fact that it's now over four days that he's received the payment but refuses to provide tracking info or a picture of the shipping receipt and keeps sending me some blurry pictures of a pile of iPhones.
He claims he's a Chartered Accountant, well I work for one of the Big Four and know a thing or two about the industry and he sounds nothing like a CA.
It's my fault, I know, but in the seven years I've traded online I've been exceptionally lucky to meet honest and reliable people. Live and learn, I guess.
JAC, many thanks for the info posted, it appears that that this is indeed the same guy. Here's the info I've got from him so far:
PayPal email addy: vxpage@gmail.com
PayPal account name: Rob Weeee
Supposed real name: Rob Weerketarian (not found on Canada411)
Supposed cell number: 780.885.5871 (doesn't exist apparently)
Provided another RFD members with a supposed MSN contact to verify his "good trader" standing - got.nub@gmail.com, MSN nickname Weeeee, clearly a fake alias with the same email address that his websites are registered to. Another "contact" is sky_dragon962@hotmail.com who claims in MSN conversations he's got his iPhone from Tehz already but is not willing to confirm anything else or take a picture of his phone.
Couple more emails of "contacts": 1337.gzp@gmail.com, wilkinwong167@hotmail.com.
Now he's not responding to MSN messages which was to be expected. I'll post any updates as they come.

His FS thread should have been ringing alarms to you from the get go. Come on, 8GB iPhone for $400? And on top of that, it isn't even a local deal.
It's unfortunate that you (possibly, if not likely) got scammed, but "if it's too good to be true, it probably is". Stick to these words and you won't lose another buck from scams.
But, if you do get your iPhone, well... that's absolutely fantastic :cheesygri

Seems like he's also a scammer in RuneScape II, his profile (http://www.sythe.org/member.php?u=56818), and his last thread (http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?p=1135309) about his 'scam'.
He was on my MSN cause I was interested in the iPhone as well, but he said someone got to him first, so I deleted him off MSN.

Well, the little dip$hit came online and we had a nice discussion on MSN. Long story short, he's not even disputing that he hasn't sent the phone, and is not willing to refund the money. He wanted me to cancel the claim so that the funds in his account get unlocked, but I don't think it would be the wisest choice under the circumstances. Anyway, here's the little saga, unabriged.

i was also thing of selling to this guy, htc tytn 2 kaiser,
he tried to get me to send first, then said he'd pay half then once he receives it, then he'll send the rest, as i said no, he then said his cousin can pick it up then he'll emt/paypal me, then he never went through w/ that.
i'm not sure if he's a scam or not, but someone metioned how he said he was in vancouver... and wont be back til wednesday, he never mentioned anything about that to me, i've been talkin to him since last week til yesterday. good luck w/ your issue..remember..paypa, file a non receipt u should get your money back.
also, he mentioned to me he was a student studying to be CA. hope this help in your investigation etc.

Alright, guess I can finally weigh in on this matter...just got the time to stop by. Anyways, I was the one working with Igor to try and get some info from this guy. I was also interested in the iPhone...come on...$400 for 8Gb...who wouldn't be lol. Anyways, I contacted him, we talked...in the end we agreed that I would pay $250 now, then the rest when I received the phone. I already had a feeling this wasn't right, since as Igor pointed out, all the references he gave me...they just didn't seem right. But I decided heck, I'll just use my CC on paypal, and that way I can get my money back quite easily. So I gave it a shot, but luckily my CC was denied to be used for this transaction on Paypal. First, he asked me if I was paypal verified, and I said yes, as I am. So I asked him if he is, and he said yes, then gave me the paypal e-mail. So I was attempting to send the payment, and noticed he was an unverified trader, with 0 feedbacks on Paypal. I asked him about this, and he said it was a mistake, and that he is indeed verified. Anyways, like I said, I tried sending the money, but my CC was denied..and I decided not to bother anymore, since all the pieces were just falling together.
Also, about that sky_dragon email...he told me that that was one of the people who also purchased an iPhone from him. Tehz also told me that so far, (as of Sunday) this sky_dragon fellow was the only one who got a tracking number from Canada Post, and that the other buyers were still waiting for theirs. This sounded too fishy as it is, but I played along and said oh. So I added him a few days back to msn, but just chatted with him for the first time today. He told me he received his iPod already. So I kindly asked him if he could take a picture, just because I was thinking of dealing with him and just wanted to know if he was legit...which I of course knew by now that he wasn't. He kept telling me that he just has a pic that Tehz sent him of the phones (I'm guessing the same pic that was sent to me and Igor before). So I then asked him about tracking info, and he told me he never got any, and that he got the phone just like that. Also claimed he didn't even know that Canada Post gave tracking numbers...BS! Anyways, I just ignored him and moved on.
Anyways, there were many more instances that we discovered that this whole thing was scam, for example, all the msn id's he provided spoke with the same format...a few sentences starting with capital letters, and soo many friggin ':P' emoticons! ...not to mention the fact that he changed his stories over and over...and he never told me and Igor the same thing. He also mentioned that he initially had 1 iPhone, which was used. Then told me he got 4 more new ones. The next time I spoke with him, apparently he had a total of 6 (not 5), and all of them were new. So yeah, it's pretty obvious the whole thing is a sham. I'm just glad my CC got denied that night. Otherwise, I would've had to go through a bit of a hassle just to get that $ back.
He also mentioned that a member named "Mike" from RFD also purchased one. Not sure if this is another of his fake stories, or that maybe there's actually someone here named Mike who unfortunately got scammed by this joke too. Anyways, best of luck on the search, and if you guys need any help...you know where to find me lol.
By the way JAC, really nice work there with all that info you dug up. And Igor, hope your paypal dispute gets sorted out and you get your money back. Definitely don't just close the claim if he asks you too. Worse comes to worse, you said he had $242 in his account...so I guess you might lose 8 bucks tops. Live and learn. Anyways...take care guys...

Nice one, Tehz. Just a bit of advice though, some rightful indignation and the desire to expose me for being an overly paranoid jerk would be more fitting now, were you indeed an honest seller.
You may wanna work on your act a bit more, acting in a believable fashion is a must for any aspiring scam artist.

250 dollars for a 8GB iphone?? that deal seems way too good to be true... even if it was "used".
... Seller asked for 400 dollars, and he agreed to sell it to you for 250 o.O that is a big big warning flag right there.
I hope you get your money back =/

You still think this is a joke, don't you. This isn't game accounts you're scamming, boy. You've graduated to felony status.
We've outed your emails, we've found the websites you use for business. Now you're going to have to start all over. And we'll find you when you do, because you're too stupid and lazy to cover your tracks.

I believe it was $250 down payment and $150 when the iphone was received. Even $400 for an 8gb iphone is an amazing deal.

Honestly, this guy sounds exactly like that "GRANDCHEROKEE" guy that ripped me off for $400 bucks on here for a video card. Same f* story ... Alberta blah blah, if he said he's from Alberta, believe me, he's nowhere near Alberta.
I learned my lesson (a rather expensive one) and as soon as I smell something even remotely iffy i back out of the deal. You're lucky that you used paypal and still have a small chance of getting your money back ... I used EMT and getting my money back was impossible. He withdrew and ran.
Cops most likely won't give a rats@ss (just like they never cared about my case), so your biggest chance is to call paypal (or get an officer to call in) and ask them who the deposit went to (which credit card) and ask for his location, as this has become a legal matter (gotta know the guy's address to sue him...right ? :) ). Then forward the address to me, and I'll gladly murder this guy for free. I'm not joking...I still have unfinished business with these scummers.

JAC, many thanks for updating info on Tehz's fake aliases, I've sent all the data to PayPal. I really appreciate all the suggestions from everybody who posted in this thread, RFD is truly a community, that's why most of us have been around for many years and won't be turned off by a few bad apples like our little Chartered Accountant here.
I've spoken to PayPal and they tell me that unless Tehz provides proof of having ensured and shipped the item on the purchase date (Sep 28), the claim will be decided in my favour. They will pay me back in full.
I will also report this to RECOL and to the cops, whether they do anything or not now is immaterial, sooner or later Tehz's BS will catch up with him and he'll realize it's all fun and games until life kicks him square in the family jewels area.
I am happy that it doesn't look like he managed to scam anybody else with his iPhone "deal", his account only shows my payment. Luckily, the dip$hit is just too dumb to put on a better act and too lazy to cover his tracks.

RECOL is a waste of time. I don't see why we have a website to report these things when they don't do a thing. I reported someone with a LOT of information including his address and they did not do a stinking thing.

Clearly this guy needs to be dipped by the balls into a deep fryer, but Igor, let me get this straight...
-First he is selling an 8GB iphone for 400 bucks when most go for 550+ bling!
-Second he has little to no credibility on RFD given his feedback and post count   bling bling!
-Third he is not local    bling bling bling!
and lastly, he agrees to ship the phone when you only payed $250     bling bling fzzzzzzz aaaaargh zomg electrizity
come on dude, is that enough light bulbs for you? when someone is already selling at an amazing price, agrees to ship such a valuable item for merely half of its value... don't you think something is up? a good trader would never ship something before getting paid in FULL, and only scammers agree to partial payments, because any amount of money is better than zero.

Point well taken... In retrospect, I think that this particular "deal" was indeed too good to be true. However, I've seen very good deals in the past and bought and sold stuff at liquidation prices because of various circumstances.
I've also shipped an expensive item before (24" Dell LCD) after having received only a half of the purchase price and the buyer (who had plenty of good feedbacks) promptly paid as soon as he received it, he could have paid in full but preferred to deal in this 50+50 fashion and I had no problem in accommodating that. Similarily, I think that a potential seller would be pretty safe to assume that I would not scam them (having well over a hundred feedbacks on Heatware/Ebay/AirsoftCanada).
All's well that ends well - I've learned my lesson, the turdface has been exposed and will not be able to con anybody else on RFD. I will make sure to send some good wishes his way, together with a bit of voodoo magic that will gift the enterpreneuring a$$wipe with chronic halitosys and persistent erectile disfunction.
Couple of words for my friend Tehz: Clearly, you are way too cool to concern yourself with stupid things like honesty and responsibility. Keep up the great work bud and I am sure that in good time you'll go places, just hope that Bubba finds the stories of your fourishing Chartered Accountant career entertaining when you cuddle up for those long cold nights in the slammer. Use the proceeds from your future scams for a good supply of Soap-On-A-Rope, just in case he turns out to be the jelous type.

Exactly what I pointed out to Igor. Unfortunately, the bait was taken and he sunk to the bottom of the sea =(
But anyways, I wish the best of luck on the effort to catch this Tehz character, judging from his posts, we need to drop his balls for him.

I got a whopping $5.82 back, yay. Will call PayPal on Monday to ask WTF.
Incidentally, anybody knows how to hook up your PP account to a credit card instead of a bank account to be able to do a simple charge back instead of this laughable PayPal conflict resolution process?

Credit card is PayPal's preferred link. In fact, I have mine linked to my bank account but they still wanted a back-up credit card account.
And wow... less than six bucks. PayPal fails. This is why I'm so put off by doing non-local deals outside of ebay. Even on ebay I stick to chump change items and sellers with thousands of positive feedbacks... just bought Shadow of the Colossus (sealed) for 18 bucks shipping in, lol.
Hopefully the rest comes soon, Igor.

Spoke to PayPal, they won't give me any info about Bubba's future girlfriend's account, just say that they've given me everything that was available in his account at the time. They also say that after 90 days they'll go after him through a collection agency and should they recover anything (fat chance, I know) they'll refund me.
As for using the credit card for PayPal payments, that's actually an option when you're making the payment, you simply select the CC as the source of funds. In case of a fraud, you would follow the normal PayPal conflic resolution process and after the claim is decided in your favour and you get whatever PayPal is able to recover, you file a claim with your CC company for the remainder of the balance.

did you pay by CC? call ur cc company for chargeback!
i saw scammed by someone and paypal couldn't give me any help to recover the money. I called my cc company and they paid me back the full amount! So...call ur cc company and ask to talk to the manager. I called them at 6AM, so i got the chance to talk to the manager directly without transferring calls.
