I'm getting a ds next week from zellers ($109! woohoo), so what games should I get?
I like action/adventure games like jak and daxter, devil may cry, god of war and so on. I heard good things about Castlevania: Portrait Of Ruin on ds, anyone here played it?
I like real time strategy games as well (starcraft ... oh how may hours I wasted on that game).
not huge on rpgs ... last rpg i liked was planescape torment.
so yeah, bring on the suggestions! :cheesygri

Animal Crossing feels like an RPG with no fighting. Picross would be better if you're interested in puzzles. Metroid Prime Hunters or Castlevania would be good since you're into the action.

The best investment you can make would be to get an R4...i had bought about 20 games before getting my R4...could of saved so much $$$ if I had bought the R4 earlier.
Doing this, you could get a whole bunch of games, try them out, and then decide which ones you like...

with the R4 out, and at such an affordable price, unless you like to collect real games (which quite a lot of people do), there's no reason why you should buy a real game instead of an R4.

Just curious: after getting an R4, are all DS games simply downloaded through torrent websites, just like how ppl used to (and i guess still do) download .iso's for xbox, ps2, etc.?
or is there some other way / place people end up getting the games to put on their NDSL ?
I don't think i'll be getting a DSL. I'm tempted by the zellers price coming up, but I don't see myself playing games enough to warrant buying one, since getting all the accessories for it afterwards will make me spend more money than i really want to...although I keep hearing Brain Age is really fun....
Oh and also, when you guys all play your games off the R4, does the multiplayer still work? I dont know squat about the DSL, so I dont know if the games go through some type of nintendo server over the internet, before you play with each other....so I was just curious how it worked.

You say you probably won't get a DS but still need so much information on it.
Games can be downloaded from places. The places vary from sites to torrents to whatever the pirates do to distribute games. Multiplayer works with the R4. It goes through Nintendo's online system and is fairly painless. No account creation required, just a stable Internet connection. Although, you'll hear about friend codes with many games and how evil they are.

Yeah, except for supporting the developers and not stealing games. No good reason whatsoever...
I will be getting an R4, but only because it's much easier to have an all-in-one cartridge for games as opposed to carrying my gaming library around.

I got an R4 b/c I was lazy to switch carts. I still buy games to support development. Guess I am a sucker?

Lol...well to be honest, when i saw the price is going down from the zellers flyer...i THOUGHT about getting one. It's RFD's fault.....I never thought about getting a DSL before until I saw the price drop, but I'm going to resist getting one. I really won't have the time to play it to get any value out of it.
And the reason I asked all the questions was just because I was curious. Sure I could've googled around and everything, but I figured i'd get a simple concise answer from people who have more knowledge.
I was mostly curious about the Multiplayer with R4, as I thought Nintendo might do somethign to block people from playing multiplayer from an R4, similar to how MS banned XBOX's from Live.
Thanks for your detailed reply though.
