Hi. All. I found there is a discount plan for new sign-up user on shaw high speed internet service for $29.95/mo for 6 months and modem included.
http://www.shaw.ca/en-ca/ProductsServices/Internet/High-Speed/

Though I have shaw service since one year ago, and they still charge me $45.95/mo. I'm wondering if it's possible to cancel my currently one, and re-apply this new plan.

Anyone has sorts of experience with them? Will they allow to do that?

Actually, I have called them to ask. One representative tell me if I cancel my current plan, and apply a new one to fit this discount. I might need to wait couples month until be connected... Oops... Is that true?

$45.95 is quite a lot compare to that $29.95, even only for that 6 months.

Thanks.

that's normal since those promotions are for new internet accounts. sucks, but what can you do? maybe see if there are any promos from telus and switch for a while and then switch back to shaw later? something worth considering if you don't mind to go through the motions and hassles.

How are you paying $46? On shaw.ca, Shaw highspeed is $40.95/month or $32/month if you have digital cable.

If you're looking to save every penny, switch to telus for 6 months @ $19.95, then switch back to shaw when your contract is up.
