Can someone suggest a nice lounge in one of the above areas? My girlfriend's birthday is coming up and after dinner, we wanted to just go have some drinks at a nice (somewhat classy/dressy) place.

i.e. not a Jack Astors / Boston Pizza....

We want to avoid downtown since the car/parking/travel will be a bit tough on some of us.

Can anyone recommend any places? I really have no clue of the bars/lounges in these areas. We'd like a place that plays music as well. Not necessarily a dance floor or anything, but having some nice music in the back is nice as well.

We're all 22 years old, and our group of friends is pretty mixed (indian, chinese, white, etc.)

I was thinking of Urban Lounge @ Kennedy & Dennison. Has anyone been there? I heard its mostly an asian hangout, but we don't really care of the type of crowd. If the place is nice, then its all good.

We also know of Nava (Woodbine & 16th, i think), but we'd like to try another place. Any recommendations? Thanks

Nava is closer to Leslie and 16th, it's alright but an older crowd. They have a dance floor too.

You can always try the lounges at Commerce Gate, it's mainly the same as Urban lounge . I think they all kinda suck atmosphere is just so dry at those places, I much rather go to a bar downtown.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I can't seem to find many other places around here that people say is nice. I looked all over the net.

Yeah a few of my friends have gone to Nava a couple of times and have liked it. But we wanted to avoid going there since some of them always go there, so we thought we'd give Urban Lounge a shot. I might just walk in randomly sometime this weekend to see what the place is like.

If anyone has any other suggestions, that'd be great. Thanks.

Marlowe discriminates on Indian people wearing turbans. So beware of that place. There was some controversy over Marlowe just a few months ago.

Choco Red is another spot you might want to check out. It's just on Warden and Steeles right where Midnite Oil used to be located. They have private VIP rooms. Try asking them about it.

if you're looking for a place to just have a few drinks and chat I find the new moxie's at east beaver creek to be pretty nice. the decor is decent and there are no problems at the door. its across from marlowe.

I've been to the moxies at Fairview Mall, as well as the somewhat new one at Scarborough Towne Centre.

I dont' remember seeing an open area with chairs/couches/etc. to sit around and have drinks.

Does the one at east beaver creek have an area like that? Or can i just expect the regular type of restaurant seating that I would find at other places? (booths, tables of 2s, 4s, etc.)

Thanks.

they have large booths, bar tables, and I think regular tables. It looks pretty nice for a moxies. they have a pretty large bar area. If you're looking for couches, the bar at Alice Fazooli's across the parking lot has a few along with pool tables. they use to have a dj working the weekends, don't know if they still have it.

If you want lounges, there are a few at the East Beaver Creek and Hwy 7 area (Leslie and Hwy 7).

- Marlowe's
- Nava
- Brix (which is on the south side of hwy 7) (I've never been here)
- Fox and the Fiddle
- Honest Lawyer

All those places are in the same area.

I've never been to here but has anyone gone to the "Lounge" just next to Lemon Grass (same plaza as Chaku, Destiny.. etc) on Silver Star. Blvd?
