I decided to take advantage of the deal going on at Staples with Verbatim DVDR's 100pk. and decided to get 2 and the Logitech mm32 so the free delivery can be applied.
Anyway, I found out they were Arial font when they got here so I decided to return them.. I called in to schedule a pickup and a guy came once but no one was home. I scheduled it again to today and he came the day after I called (wasnt supposed to). the guy came last week, on Friday, I put the two DVDR packs in the box and left it unsealed. He took it back I signed the pink form and I was awaiting the chargeback on the credit card.
Today, I wasnt home and my brother was, he decided to come back (same guy).. so this is the day hes actually supposed to come get the return items. He gave my brother another pink form but he marks that he only picked up one from Friday and my brother gave him a Verbatim 100pk that I bought from FS awhile back (about 34.99..)
I dont know if this guy is ripping me off atm or something happened but I know I should have sealed that box. I called and they said they will look into it and call me back, if I dont hear anything by tommorow I'll be sure to hit them back again with another call. I have reciepts of the two packs I bought from FS too.. their the only packs of Verbatims that I have as well...
Just thought I'd share what had happened to ensure this would never happen to anyone else..

Why didn't you just return it to a Staples store? Much easier and no worries about confusion like this would happen.

I thought it would be easier to get it picked up since I was going to be home anyway.
Plus their returning it tommorow, better be the TNR one I had bought or I'm going to be pissed..

Man I can't believe you called to schedule a pickup of a pack of DVDRs. Talk about abuse of the return policy.
It is definitely costing them more to pickup the DVDRs in gas, time, and labour than the item is even worth.
People on RFD complain that stores are constantly narrowing their return policies and making them ore and more constrained. This is why - people absuing the existing policies so much that they ruin it for everyone else!
I hope the next time you purchase some gigantic desk in a box that you late need to return because of missing pieces, and Staples won't come pick it up for free because they discontinued it due to abuse, that you're happy.

To be fair, for people who purchase online and have the goods shipped (instead of buying them in store), scheduling a pickup for return is ... LOGICAL, no?

Frankly, no. not for no charge.
It is one thing to offer free shipping for a pack of DVDs. It's a nicety most online retailers don't even do anymore (FS for example). Its nice staples still does that for most orders.
But expecting to be able to schedule a free pickup for return of a pack of DVDR sis just plain foolish. Buyer should have to pay, especially if item is under $100 and he lives in an area such as the GTA, like the OP does, there there are ample places to return. It' snot like he is living in the middle of nowhere 200 miles from the nearest Staples.
The policy should be on a sliding factor that takes into account the cost of the item and the distance to the nearest store IMO.
It's totally unreasonable to expect a store to pay to send a truck that altogether costs probably $50 an hour to run to pick up an item worth $30-$40 RETAIL (more like $15-$20 their cost) at your house just because your too lazy to do it yourself.

eerrr actually that is kinda cheap and lazy man. A pick up for a pack of CD/DVDs!?
Can't really blame for you having trouble with the return. THe driver came three times on a small delivery!!! Karma for ur laziness?
Kinda reminds me of a "buyer" i had. I was selling a laptop on craiglist and the buyer emailed me back with a link to mapquest to his house. He wanted me to come to his house (45min drive away) so he can see the laptop. he didn't even ask he jsut replied with a link and telling me to go there.
I emailed him back saying I would come see him if I was the BUYER!! some peopel are jsut selfish and ignorant to their own stupidity I ugess.

You will be home anyways.. you will be home ALL DAY? Like shipping, they don't guarantee when they come. I don't know about you, but I'd rather spend a few cents in gas and perhaps a couple dimes in terms of depreciation towards my car for the extra little tick on the odometer than sit at home all day waiting for the guy to come. When it's past 5pm and you realized he didn't come, you'll hit yourself hard, because you friends called you out for a drink and chit chat but denied them because you were waiting for some guy to pick up a pack of dvds..

In fact I was only lucky I was home for lunch that day so the driver would be able to pick it up, my parents arent too good with english so taking it there to return wouldnt be the best idea. So I decided that they could come here and my parents could just hand over the items and that would be it, no need to explain anything at all, not like they can anyhow.
