what can of discounts can we expect? 30% off? regular priced items?
crashcourse

the last couple BR friends and family events had 30% off anything in the store (sale or regular price).. I would assume the same deal if you can get a card.

think this would be okay here if it wasn't a month and a half away !!!

Oct 23rd, 2007, 04:55 PM
And it would also be okay if this wasn't an exclusive event like it was last year (i.e., a friend actually has to work at BR and pass to you a card in order to receive the discount).

Yeah, that's hot! I usually go to pick up some cheap scarfs and sale items. I generally get mine from friends.
If you're desperate to get a card, you can try going to a less crowded stores the last day of the sale. They sales people usually give out out free cards :D

I seriously think the month away in this case is very favourable for us. This gives us time to hunt for these postcards (arrange meet-ups and stuff), or get acquainted with the sales and possibly get it from them.
But seriously, ALL BR stores require you to have that card? will some lame excuse get by? like forgot to bring or my dog ate it?

During last year F&F, I saw some lady tried to use the printed version but got rejected (probably from RFD :D ) I believe they take your card everytime you pay for it (but they allow you to split up your bills).

I doubt they take your card. I worked at the GAP and they let you keep the card. Okay from my experience at the Gap (and im sure its no different at BR and Old Navy - same sh1t different pile), after friends and family day they have mark downs anywas to sell the stuff they don't move. The company always sets these crazy goals for FF weekends but they don't usually meet it hence the mark down on the following Monday.

Yeah, they usually do mark down whatever they don't sell but the only problem with that is "sizes". I went to this F&F sale the last 2 years and they always took my card (but this was at Yorkdale).
P.S. It was at Square One BR that they was giving out free cards on the last day during last year's F&F.

Yeah they usually get extra cards hence they start to hand them out. Sometimes they get their SA to go through the mall and hand them out.

Does anyone know if it's 30% off the regular price or ontop of the last ticket price/discounted price?
I asked the sales people at Eatons Centre- 1 of them told me it's on the regular price, the other 2 said otherwise.

Just came from the BR at Eatons. Man when did BR start charging that much? Even with the discount I feel like I'm getting ripped off. I don't mind paying a lot for clothes, but for banana?? Stuff will go down 50 percent off close to xmas. Friend got a jacket from the states for 150, and its 450 here before tax.

For those who need a F&F card in the GTA, come to the Bayview Village BR (Bayview&Sheppard). I'm working 10-4 this Sat, so I'll hook you guys up. Any active RFD member is a friend of mine, and it's about time that I repay the favour. With that said, ask for Justin, and don't go about asking any employee (because we've been told not to give them out). I'll make sure that there is anyone who needs one, can use one.

I was at Sherway Gardens' BR today and asked the Sales Reps if I could get a F&F card. One lady said she would try to find an extra one for me and another girl actually found one and gave it to me! (under her name) The Sales Reps always seem to be good to me..... I figured, it doesn't hurt to ask. :)

i am very shocked at the blatant lying at BR... i was there thursday and saw a nice coat and wrote down sku and everything
i went today and the same salesperson said he never heard of it...
it was odd since i went really early they were "hidding" clothes.
p.s if you bought ovrer 400 or 500 they give you the 30% if you ask...

Looks like only a handful of RFDers took me up on my offer. I was expecting more, hoping to see the RFD effect first hand, but I guess next time I'll offer the invitations earlier. Nevertheless, nice to meet new people and everyone was very gracious, so thank you for that!

Ha! I'm surprised you know the employee discount! I'll assume you're being sarcastic, but in any case if I extend a favour to one RDDer, then I'd have to for all. However, I'll PM you as soon as I know they go on sale, which is likely boxing week time. Otherwise, go to the BR outlet store at Fashion Outlets, Niagara Falls- last time I went, much of the stuff was less than Canadian prices+employee discount.
+1 to warlockdilemna. Surprisingly it's the women who force their partners to try the argyle on. Women like their men to look sophisticated

All boxing days prices are MARKED down THE WEEK BEFORE. Keep in mind there's 14 days for price adjustments. Usually if you go the day or two before Christmas, you'll get the same prices as boxing day

I agree the argyle sweater gives you a sophisticated look and just to clarify all the compliments were from the ladies :D ....none of the guys at work bothered to comment on it...I am surprised the argyle fad continued to this year,I thought it would be just a one season thing
However, I'll PM you as soon as I know they go on sale, which is likely boxing week time.
Pls PM me too or better still please Post it right here on RFD....you will be treated as a hero :cheesygri

yea, the argyle was brought back from way back last year. Actually it's not that hot anymore, only BR is still chunking out these styles now. In terms of quality, these silk/cash combinations are really heavenly. They are not as warm as 100% cash (only a couple of BRs carry those) but they are definitely just as comfy. I've about 7 of those, v-neck, round neck and half zip are my favourite. Not really big on the buttons series this season...
