Facebook Blocked My Search Function...For Making Too Many Searches

I still cannot believe that I cannot search for my Facebook friends now, since my account has been blocked for doing too many Searches :confused:

I have never heard that you can get blocked for doing this & when I sent them an e-mail asking why & what I have done wrong, they cannot even tell me why & say that my 'behaviour' could be annoying or abusive to others:confused: How?? By doing a simple search for people you might know... It's not like you are poking them or sending annoying messages:|

This is what I was told when asked how I have abused Facebook:

This doesn't surprise me... Facebook banned my friend's account once cause him and a buddy were messaging each other on there and they were told that they were messaging too much.

my partner and I used to message there when we were at school/work - public libraries where we couldn't quite log onto MSN. Although come to think of it, during those times my profile has spontaneously disappeared once in a while but I just left it alone for like half a day. Apparently my name was totally wiped out during those times - my partner's status simply became "In a relationship", and i didn't show up on any of my friends pages (or so they say). but it came back. that could be it

When you get reinstated, don't do a bunch of searches...instead, search for one friend that is friends with some of your other friends. Then you can add people from their lists without having to search.

I will try to limit my searches now:rolleyes: ...but the problem with that is that some people that I know might not necessarily know some of my other friends or old high school friends, so it might not work...>:(

I just checked form a diff. computer & looks like you can search without registering but it will only show you first 3 pages...so if you want to see more pages you will have to sign up eventually. I guess they want you really to sign up...but be careful so you don't get blocked by searching too often:D

That's why I hyphenated my name. Incredible how many ppl added me from GRADE school (remember that was 30 years ago for me!!) once I did that.
