My wife emailed CT customer service and they replied with yes, but the tellers and then the manager at a local CT store told us both that the CT money "clearly states"... "for merchandise purchases only", so no you can't buy gift cards.
does anyone know the truth? please...i have a huge stack of old CT money, and i want to trade it in for CT GC, so my drawer is a little less cluttered...
thanks,

It's hit and miss.. I've seen it done, but I've also seen it turned down.
I saw one guy drop off a wad of CT money at customer service and they put it all on a gift card so that when he got to the cash it wouldn't jam up the lines... who knows if he went back to actually buy anything or not, but that can be one approach... the CSR at customer service even thanked him for doing this, as it clearly saved a lot of time for the regular checkout..

thank you very much for your reply. i just found it weird that the online rep said you can, and one teller in the store said we could...and another and the manager said we can't...no consistancy. seems like a policy should be in place which everyone understands...but maybe thats just me...

As mentioned it's a hit and miss. I've done it before without problems, but may not work again next time I try (thankfully I rarely shop at CT).
