I think the most it can handle is 7.7 lbs. The tripod itself is 6.9 lbs.

Pretty much every tripod sold at futureshop is junk. Literally. Not that they sell many.

Find a Manfrotto on sale and be happy with it for life. :) example (not on sale): http://www.lensandshutter.com/products.lasso?key=item&id=1071

It's pretty unlikely you'll need to support 7.7lbs, especially if you're looking at $20 tripods... and if you have an expensive, heavier camera.. you don't wanna trust it with this junk to begin with. Get a quality tripod and protect your investment!
