I tried calling my trusty "customer Retention Line" 1-800-515-2222 and it came back as "number is out of service"  so I had to call 310-BELL.(pain in the #$@$$) Looking to score a deal on high speed internet, finally got transferred around and ended up in the customer retention department. They will not honour the deals of just 1 month ago, at that time i had the rep on the phone down to first 3 months free, $100 aquisition credit and then $29.99 per month for 5 megs of speed. Now best deal i could get is first 3 months $19.99 then $44.95 per month and then $100 credit but this is 7 megs. The rep told me things have changed now and that they are getting tougher on price, she had no interest in price matching.
Anybody have the same experience????? and what is best current rate going?

Capping downloads to 60GB, throttling bandwidth if using torrent sites or TVUPlayer. No thanks. My contract is up today and I've canceled my service. Looks like I'm Teksavvy bound. :D

Doesn't Teksavvy resell Sympatico, so they would throttle too?

On the first call, I got the following deal:
1 year TIPP (Total Internet Protection Plan) contract, $24.95/month for the first 6 months, $29.95 per month thereafter, first 8 months unlimited bandwidth, last 4 months capped @ 60 GB. Best thing is, I didn't even fight for the deal. It was given to me immediately.

You have to argue period. They capped me at 60 gigs without telling me on my contract. Now its high speed 12 months, 2 months free $29.95 per month unlimited bandwidth. The unlimited bandwidth package no longer exists so the rep has to add it to your package which I think is an additional $12 or $15 per month and then just credit you with a "bandwidth credit" that amount every month.

Nope,Teksavvy is a completely different company.
I just switched from Bell,Teksavvy are like night and day.
Really happy that i did.
I bothered their tech dept many times and they where quick, polite and efficient.
Try and get that from Bell.
Now,all of sudden Bell keep calling me and ask what can they do to get me back.
Absolutely nothing.
The funny thing is they are all like robots.
Their final words are "Thank you for using Bell"

I saw serveral people quoting the TIPP package from Bell @ $29.95, 5MB bandwidth, 60GB cap, 1 or 2 year contract.
I've called about 4 times to Bell and the best that they offered me for this package is $19.95 for the first 3 months, then $44.95 for the remaining months, under a 2 year contract.
What am I doing wrong?

+1 ... I'm going to call their billing dept and see if I can get some form of a compensation. If not, this is going to be escalated as it did with my cell phone. My cell phone complaint went all the way to their head office, and after a couple of months, I rec'd my compensation.
The thing is, Bell has been charging us for "HS internet" for 7.5 years now, even though we've always complained that we're not getting the speeds they promised. They always seem to dismiss it with a "something is wrong with the line .. we'll see if we can get it resolved" test. I finally got the tech guy to admit that speeds will never even reach 2 MB/sec (or whatever it is that they promised for highspeed) b/c our house is a "certain distance away" from some sort of a tower or something. They advised us not to pay for HS, and to downgrade our pkg. Imagine my frustration when they've FINALLY admitted this after 7.5 YEARS of "HS internet service" ever since we've moved into this house!!!
