How Hard/Will it Turn out Good if I paint High-Density Polyethylene

I plan on painting this table http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6672720&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443294762&bmUID=1195701198927&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true#reviews with a new color and some lettering, however I am very inexperienced in painting.

Following a youtube video I found of someone painting wood, all i need to do is sand, primer x2, paint x2, and polycrylic x2?

Go to any hardware store and there are spray cans of paint that is specifically for painting plastics and follow the directions on the can. The steps you've described aren't required in most cases for plastic if you use the right paint.
