Ontario Electrical Code Question

Need some advice from those knowledgeable about Ontario Electrical Code.

Is it acceptable to connect a pony box to the main panel using 8 gauge stove cable. The cable is not jacketed in metal just the white plastic shielding that came with the cable.

yes, if it's protected by the right size of circuit breaker or fuse and the cable is not run through a wet location. 8 gauge would be a maximum 40amp breaker

Sorry to highjack this thread, we recently purchashed a Built in Oven & a separate electrical cooktop, they will be going on top of one an other, however we only have one 40 amp outlet in the kitchen, (our old oven/burner was one piece)...can i connect both the cooktop and oven to the 40 amp electrical connection or do each of them need to be on separate fuses

We have a pony panel for the pool and then another service panel for the addition coming off the main panel.

Check with the manual of the oven & cooktop. It'll tell you what it needs. I'm guessing you'll need separate circuits.
