Anyone know a good club downtown?

Some things that may help:
-prefer mature crowd (25+)
-hiphop/rap/reggae
-cheap drinks (not those crappy mix drinks)
-cheap/free cover

Haha, I know it's a pretty picky list... But all the requirements don't have to be met.

I've been to Joker, C-Lounge, Afterlife, Inside, and Tonic in the past.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't listen to rap so I can't comment specifically but this should be of help:

Go to Circa, the crowd is somewhat mature and they have a nice hiphop, reggea and some rnb room and the rest of the club is all techno, house and dance. The drink I don't know how much they are but when I went in I paid $15 for cover. I've been there once and it was pretty good.

Damn...Joker and Tonic still around...:) ..Have you tried...Guvernment(if that is still around)...Republik,Club54, Mink, another one I haven't gone to for awhile is Money, but don't know if its still around....Take a look at Toronto Nightclubs (http://www.torontonightclub.com/) and you find something you like.

I sometimes go to a club called Escape when I go to T.O which has some pretty fine ladies ;) and decent music. There's a couple other clubs which had different rooms/music and they were pretty good as well, can't remember their names though.

Money is gone, building still there but its some other club now.

As for the gym comment, I think there referring to that club that was next to the paramount / scotia bank theater. Its now an extreme fitness.

Crica should be good, its like $20 to get in. I'm probably checking it out tonight, havnt been in that building since it was playdium

Mink on pearl street is usually pretty good.

The Fifth, very nice place, more mature crowd (people look like they just go after work), a more strict dress code. FAR from the teeny bopper underage asian gangster clubs that used to be docks, republik, etc.

and you cant beat $3 drinks on friday.

but ONE THING i dont like is the bouncers and who they let in. they very picky in how many they let in, making sure there's good guy/girl ratio, and preference to letting guestlists in. but if you show up near 10pm, should be no problem getting in.

Man, the club scene down there has changed so much... Joker, Money, Life, System Sound Bar, all those closed down now. I think Inside might still be open? I would suggest going to Guvernment perhaps.

OP....

Some things that may help:
-prefer mature crowd (25+)
Most of the good 25+ yrs group has moved into the King West area... and it more of a lounge scence than a club. (Brant, Century Room, Muzik, Maro...)

-hiphop/rap/reggae
Hip Hop/Rap/Reggae is play in limit spurts as Lounge music the mainstream at the lounges.

-cheap drinks (not those crappy mix drinks)
You are looking for a White Unicorn... it doesn't exist.

-cheap/free cover
Free cover if you are a girl and want to wear a mini skirt.
Average cover is $10-20 (unless you get on a g-list and get there before 11 PM.

not everyone is as lucky as you.

anyway, guvernment fridays and afterlife saturdays are hiphop/rnb/reggae/soca. DJ's there are pretty good too.
It's not 25+ so there are some thugs hanging around, but I don't even recall ever seeing at 25+ hiphop/rnb club.
drinks are $4.
It's promoted by soulshockgroup.com, I think you can get on guestlist from the website.

oh yeah, and if you insist on a 25+ place, I use to love devil's martini. They play top40 though. Great place just to go out and enjoy yourself.

They should make it a condo (upper floors) / hotel with cheap hourly rates.

Guest lists are not available all the time for popular clubs and you still ahve to pay cover. and why would a promoter talk to you if your a guy? LOL

They all know you are sucking up to get in for free.

Whats a better place on a friday nite? C Lounge or Mink? I was thinking of Muzik, but they are only opened on Saturdays.
