I fail to understand your thinking!!!
How could you call it a lemon....If the tranny just fell in the middle of the road...or a safety issue like brakes coming out
now thats a lemon!!!
Appreciate all comments!

well the air bag issue is understandable.. when my gf sits in my RSX it is always off since she only weighs 90lbs (she is tiny) it is just a safety feature so that the airbag doesn't deploy in the event of an accident and crush your wife.
In the BMW that is different... correct me if a wrong but they deploy only a percentage of the air bag according to the person's weight
the other stuff calls for some WD-40
don't know about leather... seats in the bmw and rsx are fine... minor stretch marks in the rsx tho.. the bmw is just peachy

That's why you take it in the dealer while under bumper to bumper warranty to have as many of the issues addressed as possible for free.

First years models - Don't buy if can't put up with some issues. It's nice to have a new model, but cons are they will always have more issues then a model that's been in production for a couple years.

Don't have any issue except the Passenger Seatbelt Rattling and on our 2.5S and 3.5 SE Coupes, the other issue are the POWER SEATS, depending how you position them it will nudge back/forth when Accelerating/Braking.
These two are well known/discussed @ NICO Forum. I'm too busy right now to mention/leave my Coupe at the dealership, I'll mention it on my next free oil change.

To be fair to the OP, most of the mechanicals of the Altima Coupe have already been out for over a year in the form of the Altima Sedan.
I think the drivetrain, chassis, electronics and the dashboard are identical. Probably the seats too.
But I agree, first year models should be avoided if possible, better to buy a model that's been out for a few years and had the gremlins worked out.

Never had a problem with my '02 Acura RSX Premium, picked it up on the first year.
Honestly, I'm not surprised with the MINOR Issues on our Coupes, it is a Nissan. Acura, BMW, Lexus or Infiniti on the other hand...

How exactly would it crush her? I think it's more because it actually doesn't know someone is sitting there.

Thats why Nissan keeps on messing up their depreciation for their later model Altimas.
First they messed up with the 2.5s, now this? wtf

Honda typically tests their platform earlier in other markets before they bring it to North American market. Hence, better reliability. I know with RSX/Integras/Civics, they have released them earlier in foriegn markets.

It's more like they release them on normal time in other markets and we're always the last.
