Hot! Canon sd870IS $329 @ FS!

Just saw that FS now has the Canon SD870IS listed @ $329.....online only though, I think since my flyer says $369. Cheaper than what I paid for it on sale with 10% off @ the BB sale last weekend! Good Deal for Christmas!

That's what he said. He didn't say they had the 870 for that price. :-) (Oh, sorry.. he edited his original post so maybe he did initially imply they had the same thing...)

Whether one or the other is hotter is a matter of preference. Unlike most times you compare Canon SD models, these two are different in a big way. Like the lens. :-)

that one is brutally ugly. Future Shop doesn't carry the all silver one anymore.

I picked up the all silver 870is from bhphoto for $329usd about 2 months ago when the CAN$ was $1.10. Shipping was $30 if i remember correctly. I saved about $200, futureshop had it for $499

i got the silver one from bestbuy for $332.99 last week. it was on sale for $369.99, minus 10% from Preferred Customers Sale or something (friends & family for FS).

so

$399.99 - $30 - $37 = $332.99 (silver)

I agree. but do you think it is really necessary to have IS for 28-105 only?

I personally think Image Stabilization is a must have feature for any new digital camera. Since there's no optical view finder, people usually hold the camera out at arm's length to use the LCD and there's a lot of shake.

IS also allows you to take shots at lower lighting they may have been blurry without a tripod. (won't perform miracles but it helps) It's helps for macro shots.

When the difference in price is smaller than $70, the SD870 IS is recommended.
