That defeats the purpose of leasing, doesn't it? The ability to swap cars every couple of years without losing anything more than depreciation.

If anyone can't afford to lease a Civic on a 48 months lease or less, then perhaps they should stick to the bus or look for a cheaper used car. There isn't a point trying to buy things you can't really afford.

Honda is having a lease special on Civics and Accords...1.5% zero down no freight...(199civic/299accord) I said its a good deal...even ****** Accents go for more...

Same lease but for 48month lease works out to only $220/month but thats not what the ad is for...

Taking the bus or buying an older used car makes less sense when you can get a good deal like this...and not have to worry about car repairs or anything else for 4 or 5 years...

So to the OP, enjoy the car, the new Civics are really nice and you got a great deal !

where did you see "no freight"?

the dealer added it to my lease, it's like $1300. :(

I can still change that, my lease application wasn't approved yet.

I would stick with 3 yrs for a Honda, since it's bumper to bumper warranty is only 3 years. I don't want to pay for any repair or purchase extended warranty for the final year. Plus, you are likely to have to replace brake & tires between the 3rd to 4th year, you can get used tires, but you still have to pay.
The way I see it is the duration of my lease should be the same as bumper to bumper warranty or 48 months, whichever is shorter.

Here is the link to Honda.ca, I heard this ad on the Radio...usually freight is about 1,200 or so and they dont really take it off, so I was surprised myself...

http://www.honda.ca/HondaCA2006/NewDeal.htm?L=E

Just print it out and show it to the guy...

*Limited time lease offer on based on new 2008 Honda Civic DX sedan MT (Model FA1528EX)available through Honda Financial Services Inc. on approved credit for vehicle leased and delivered from December 1, 2007, through January 2, 2008. Representative lease example: 2008 Honda Civic DX sedan MT (Model FA1528EX ) at 1.5% lease APR for 60 months. Monthly payment is $ 198 including freight and PDI, with $0 down payment, first monthly payment and $0 security deposit due at lease inception. Dealer contribution may be required. Total lease obligation is $11,935.80. 120,000-kilometre allowance;

EDIT...

Sorry, maybe they do charge you frieght as a seperate line item...I meant to impart that since freight and security is INCLUDED in the 199/month then its like you dont pay it...kind of...:)

Because even cars like Focus or Cobalts, I know you have to put down like 2,000-3,000 when you lease to get a deal like 199...sorry if I understood it wrong...

But yeah, if its a line item OR built into your monthly payment you still pay it...either in the price of car, at signing, or month by month....but from the link above it said that 199 included those costs...

that's 198 without tax.

with tax it's approx. 226 per month (lease 60 months).

AND PS - watch for the dealer, they will try to screw you if they can, so read over all the papers again...you can never be too careful with those guys...

Once I had an appointment to see a car salesman...he gave me his name over the phone...So I go to the dealership and ask for the guy...turns out the guy who greeted me PRETENDED he was the guy who I made the appointment with, LOL, just so he could get my sale he impersonated his fellow car saleman...
