The cheapest one advertised is the Inspiron for $449 that I posted a few posts up. It's possible if you go to their website tomorrow maybe you can take off the monitor to make it cheaper. I'm not sure though.

these are the crapiest deals ever. The only good ones are a couple of the 48 hour deals, like the harmony 880. But I picked up one of those for $100 last xmas so :| . The only true boxing day deals are always limited quantity door crashers ON boxing day. All these companies now advertise these boxing week type sales which start on the 20th and run through xmas. All those are just sales, not boxing day deals. Im disappointed with dell here. I was hoping for a $100 1TB hdd, or at least $150. Instead all I see is 1tb for $250. However, I don't do any kind of video editing so the E228WFP is perfect for what I use it for. Also, the TN panels have the advantage of quicker response times so gaming on them is more or less 'better' in the opinion of some. According to several threads I have read the 2407 unfortunately has had some ghosting issues in the past. Not 100% sure if those have been fixed or not.

Great choice on the BenQ FP241W. Voted by most to be the best 24'' panel available on the market right now. Best thing about it is that there is no lottery like there is with Dell. You will get a high quality panel every time. I'm still banking on getting the BenQ myself - waiting on a contact of mine. Cross your fingers for me, I might be able to get 2 at $350-400 each, haha.

As for the Samsung, the only difference between it and the Dell is probably as you mentioned the stand. I have always been a little partial to Dell despite some of their tomfoolery because their customer service and warranty process have always been exceptionally good to me. Whichever you can find cheaper in the 22'' line I would go for though. They're mostly all the same.

My dilemma is either tack on another 22'', dish out the money for the 2 x 24'' or wait till boxing day and just get a massive 1080P 37''-42'' and use that as a computer/gaming monitor.

I need some RFD help on this one,

I just bought a used 360 @ EB for 275.
-It included everything but the hdmi cables..
-At the same time i bought the over the counter warrenty for 40 bucks. so -that's 315 for basically the same deal that dell has for the 360.
-At the same time i picked up NHL07, and Ghost Recon for grand total of 14.
-I walked out of EB spending exactly 377.83.
-I also bought Forza one and xbox arcade unplugged at MTF for 20 total.
- All taxes in; 397.
-i'm looking at the dell bundle for 360. I'm thinking maybe i should be taken back everything, and just order the dell with the EPP.. Or get the PS3 instead, and have full blue Ray to go with it.
-I never, ever buy games new. i like the fact i can get the old popular 360 titles for 10-30 dollars.

I don't think Dell is selling the same holiday bundle. In that case, FS/BB won't PM it.

I'm not sure about the 360 but I went through this a little while ago with a PS3. It should be the same for the 360 though.

Make sure to speak to a department or store manager; typically the staff will not match or at least they'll try to find a problem and highlight it. Also make sure to mention the free shipping.

I got the PS3 80GB version for $485 at Futureshop including an extra controller and an HDMI cable. They had ran out of the cheap HDMI cables so the manager threw in a Monster HDMI cable (retail $129). Also, my 5 free Bluray movies are in the mail - I should be receiving those in a few weeks.

A friend of mine bought the 40GB through BB and they PM the Dell deal with no problems at all.

I think it's pretty safe that they would PM if you speak to the right person, but I don't think you'll be able to do it on the day (Boxing Day).

UPDATE for PM'ING @FS

Ok I just came back from FS, with good news/bad news. Bad news is that they didn't price match the Dell deal for the Xbox 360 for $369.

I talked to the manager, he said Dell is not an authorized dealer of Microsoft products. I said it was, and he said show me on Xbox website that it lists Dell.

So while we're walking to the nearest computer, he tells me that EVEN if Dell was an authorized dealer, he'd give me the Xbox 360 for $369 BUTTTT!!! no HDMI cable or Halo 3. He said they don't add accessories.

So I went to Canada website, clicked Where to Buy, and it didn't list Dell. So he said he can't price match.

EDIT: One thing they DIDN'T do was call Dell or even check stock. I just went to Dell.ca/value, clicked on flyer, showed them ad. Straight away they told me it isn't an authorized dealer.

Anyways, I was hoping SOMEONE here could give me a tip or two? I could try another FS later today, or maybe even the same one.

All we need is a webpage showing Dell is an authorized dealer, and if anyone knows a page explaining FS's policy on giving accessories as part of the price match, that would be great.

I brought a printout of the online flyer and showed it to the sales rep. The sales rep checked with his manager and said that if I could show it to him online he should be able to do it. He went back to the manager again and came back saying that he could indeed price match but that they'd have to tack on $20 for the shipping I would've paid had I gone with Dell.

No it's not possible to convert HDMI to VGA. Your monitor will need to have a DVI input.

I suspect your assumption of the price won't be far off. I wouldn't hasten to buy a 30" until Apple releases theirs. The 3008 is or would be the first monitor with displayport on the market. It doesn't look all that inspiring and the stand doesn't seem to allow for height adjustment.

Success! I convinced my girlfriend we should go back to futureshop later at night so it would be a different shift, we got in there with 20 min till close. I went to Customer Service this time instead of the Video Game Department. The girl looked over the flyer and said that everything looked fine, but she just had to go see how much shipping was. I thought i was skrewed as i watched her go onto the dell website, figuring she would figure out that the bundle wasnt in stock at that time.

Anyhow, i watched painfully and she scrolled around the xbox section not finding the bundle, then she went to some other dell page, and i noticed the banner advertising their boxing day sale. Thinking i was all but dead in the water i saw the banner flash and a advert came up saying free shipping during the boxing week sale, so I showed it to her. That was good enuf, she told me to go pick out halo 3 and xbox 360 (i got a falcon as its lot 745 Team FDOU). I asked what about the cable, and she said that the cable would be in the box. I was gonna argue but I saw a MGR entering the area so I just let it go.

Best way to be sure is by examining the lot number and the team number. Most lot 740+ should be falcons, you are almost certainly getting a falcon if its by team FDOU and lot 740+. The label may still say 203w for the powersupply (mine did) but the actual power supply was only 175w which guarnetees that you have a falcon. Some falcons DO come with the 203 w supply, then you'd have to examin the back of the case to see if you see a copper tube (you may need a flashlight to look in). No copper tube means you have a falcon.

Glad to see so many are getting the price, i'd take a coppy of the "no shipping Fees on Electronics and Accessories" banner if you want to increase your chances of getting the deal - i know it saved my bacon.

Perhaps i shoulda pushed for the cable, but oh well, i'm pretty happy considering its a falcon, and i got halo 3 + 30 bucks off. I really doubt the dell bundle is a falcon as i think it is the old 360 premium with forza 2 in the box, then they throw in marvel and halo which would mean its a newer model, but not a falcon.

I took a look at the serial number and it says Lot 0729 and Location CSON.

I'm pretty sure its not a Falcon. Are there other ways to confirm?

That is def not a falcon. team CSCON didnt start working with the falcons till later than team FDOU. I have heard that the Go Pro edition by team CSCON are falcons but if you want to be really sure then go with team FDOU with a lot higher than 740 (some have said that 738 and 739 have some falcons). Some people are saying that all the 'Go Pro' editions regardless of team are falcons.

As for returning it, its your option. The new units will run cooler and suck up less power than the older ones (playing halo 3 with the falcon is said to use less power than just being on the dashboard with the the older model).

Falcons are not guarenteed to be free of errors, and who knows they may end up with more problems, but the general feeling is that they will have less chance of failing or over heating.

Myself I probably would, if they have falcons you may as well grab it.

EDIT: does your unit have an HDMI port? If not then i'd definatly send it back, all the new units come with HDMI standard and that could be useful later on.

EDIT: Though i can tell you almost certainly that you do not have a falcon, you can manually check by shining a light into the bottom of your unit, if you see copper pipes (doesnt matter how many) you definatly have an older board. The falcons dont use it.

Dell deals are already in effect except for the 48 hour deals. If you go by the Dell day deals they usually start at 6:00am EST. But just in case I would check at midnight EST and PST if you really want something.

Based on what I have heard about Dell's customer service and repair process it has been hailed as amazing.

Of course, I have a different opinion of Dell (see scam link in sig), however, my friends who have had to use their warranty in the past never had an issue.

It seems like lots of people have been calling in to make a stink about the 3008 not being available, me being one of them. I was offered the 3007 for $1099 because of it, you may want to call in and do the same, if you want the 3007 that is. YMMV based on the CSR your in touch with, but you can call back many times within the same time period and not get the same csr, so you might as well try.

Oh ya and another thing, if you find the right csr, and you want the 3008, they will issue you a price guarantee through email that you can use when it becomes available, again YMMV.

Ok I just came back from FS, with good news/bad news. Bad news is that they didn't price match the Dell deal for the Xbox 360 for $369.

I talked to the manager, he said Dell is not an authorized dealer of Microsoft products. I said it was, and he said show me on Xbox website that it lists Dell.

So while we're walking to the nearest computer, he tells me that EVEN if Dell was an authorized dealer, he'd give me the Xbox 360 for $369 BUTTTT!!! no HDMI cable or Halo 3. He said they don't add accessories.

So I went to Canada website, clicked Where to Buy, and it didn't list Dell. So he said he can't price match.

EDIT: One thing they DIDN'T do was call Dell or even check stock. I just went to Dell.ca/value, clicked on flyer, showed them ad. Straight away they told me it isn't an authorized dealer.

Anyways, I was hoping SOMEONE here could give me a tip or two? I could try another FS later today, or maybe even the same one.

All we need is a webpage showing Dell is an authorized dealer, and if anyone knows a page explaining FS's policy on giving accessories as part of the price match, that would be great.

lol...this is indeed a true statement..yesterday i went through ******** left and right trying to pm this 42 inch that is on sale in ottawa for $1488, i went to bestbuy twice and twice to future shop and believe is not the hassle and embarrasment you have to go through. they make you feel like you are trying to steal from them or something..

Went to FS 2night for a PM on the PS3 Combo. Walked in, asked the guy in electronics if they'll PM, said sure let me see what the flyer has. He showed me where the PS3 were located, grabbed me an extra controller and the HDMI. Said just go up to Customer service. Went up there, girl looked @ the flyer. No problem I can do that for ya. Rang everything in, then one of the sales manager came over. Said, wooo thats a great deal!! Said hes bringing in his receipt tomorrow to get a reduction cause he just bought one last week for more. I've seen sites where people have ordered and recieved their 3008s ahead of time. It's apparently released in the US and Australia. Price is about $2099 USD so your prediction is not far off. I'm still hoping against hope that it will be $1299 for 48 hours.

they didnt have the dynex, and the guy gave me free asio hdmi cable (worth more than the dynex).

its not like I needed it... I already got my hdmi1.3 cables from monoprice.

If you purchase this monitor on their no interest for 12 months, no admin fees or down payments deal, it looks pretty hot.

You need a dual output video card to drive this monitor at it's 2550x1600 resolution, similar to the Apple 30" Cinema Display.

You best call back and get them to send you a price quote 'price guarantee' by email, that's what I did, it gives you a bit more ammo 'security' if they refuse you the $1299 price when it does come out.

The LCD is fixed on the back of the camera and doesn't move. I think you can have the image on it flip 90 degrees though so you don't have to hold the camera sideways.

So far the only negative news about the monitor is with the old xbox360's with component vid they can't display the 1080 format properly.....big deal!! The newer xbox360's with HDMI have no problems.

Sorry I should have been a bit clearer, it’s a price guarantee, have the csr send you a price guarantee quote through email so when the monitor does come out; you can buy it at the boxing day sale (flyer) price.

Hey, if anyone here purchased something for more than $499 during the boxing week sale, and applied for the financing that indicated if you paid off in full you'd pay no interest - you may want to call them.

I had my credit card at the ready when I ordered online, but decided I may as well do the financing and save a couple bucks in interest. After I hit submit, I got a screen saying I'd been approved for financing and to proceed. I then began to look for something that indicated that I definitely wouldn't be paying interest if I paid it off in full prior to 12 months, and I could find anything.

I tried numerous times to get through on New Year's Day, but their phone system kept forwarding my call to the wrong department. On January 2nd, I eventually reached someone and when asked to confirm my financing...

"You qualified for financing but not the no interest promotion. Only well-qualified applicants get that promotion."

Yeah, so I backed out of the financing deal. I think it's sneaky that they don't say on the "you're approved" page that you didn't qualify for the deal. Just wanted to warn anyone who assumes they can pay off in the new year with no interest. You may want to call and confirm that.
