Looking to stay in Niagara falls for 1 day Sunday night on Dec 31. I want a room with 2 doubles for 3 adults and one baby. Doesn't have to be the most fancy but a nicer clean and comfortable place that is economical was well. I don't know the area but I read there are hotels in the north and west part of niagara falls. How are these hotels and would they be far from any of the shops and stores right around the falls area? Is parking expensive if I stay in a hotel 15 minute away and drive in. sorry lots of questions and tried reading up online but with only a few days to go, thought RFD fellows would be a better source of wisdom.
Thanks

My friends are heading there
We booked a Days Inn near clifton hill for $350 on Dec 31. We booked with expedia.com so you can check them out for hotel rates and the surrounding area. Pretty good pricing for the most part!
most hotel places charge for parking about $10 a car.
Go to Fallsview and get a player advantage card.. FREE parking as long as you play a little (they will check your card on the way out to ensure you have played...even if it was $1) then walk to the falls from there.

Quite frankly, if you haven't booked something yet you may be SOL. New Years Eve gets booked up weeks before, many hotels are already sold out for the night. This happens because of the huge New Years Eve party in the park across from the Falls. You *might* be able to get a room at one of the motels further up Lundys Lane but you better get on the phone and start phoning places to see what's available. As for "economical"... well I'll just say that rooms go for premium prices for New Years Eve. ;) I know one hotel has a whole floor booked already at $1k+/room....
