is this chain wide? or is it reduced meat..

reduced meat can be ok as long as you freeze it or use it as soon as you get it....

always is pretty questionable though

Thanks OP !

Went there this morning. Picked up some for the freezer.

They also had Maple Leaf bacon 3x500g packs for $4.99 with a $3 manufacturers rebate so $1.99 for 3 packs.

Cheap bacon doesn't cook or taste well.

So we're talking around 4lbs??? I hate it when Canadian newspapers and newscasters refer to "hectares"... I just can't "fathom" it. I guess if you're young enough and never spent anytime south of the border it all makes sense. Ah, to walk a "mile" in my shoes. Thank God they haven't changed things on the gridiron.

Picked up 4 boxes of the stuff yesterday. You DID have to be careful tho, some showed an expiry date of Jan 11, but most were either the 20th or 21st.

Both the cashier and the guy who checks your receipt on the way out commented how crazy that price was. They had a LOT left, so if you're in the area, drop in. As for quality, from the outside, it didn't look too fatty, but I haven't tried them yet.

RFD's caused me to waste a lot more than $2.97 in the past on 'bargains'

(before the flamebacks start, it's also saved me boatloads on stuff I DID get or stuff I didn't due to bad reviews, etc...)

Bacon is a great way to give flavor and salt to lot of food. I ate a bacon chicken yesterday and it was crazy good...fat but GREAT! :D
