You could try www.spiralfrog.com it's a free legal mp3 download site for Canadians. You could also try www.totallyfuzzy.blogspot.com it lists music people are sharing on their blogs.

I don't know of any sites, because they would probably be closed down for copyright laws quite quickly. That is why, most of the time you are downloading using P2P.

I don't know how legal downloading music is in Canada, I've heard it is legal, and I've heard it's illegal. But i would recommend using a program, either Limewire, or just use a torrent site, and a torrent program like utorrent.

I haven't tried the service, but emusic (emusic.com) sells their music legally as unprotected mp3 files so you can burn them to cd, transfer them between your computers, etc...
