When I right click > explore a blank CD, it doesn't wanna work. Anyone know whats wrong?

I've tried on BOTH of my DVD-Roms, but it still doesn't work.

It does work though when I put in a disc with content on it.

I believe it has to do with the disk not being formatted etc. There is no data so its like trying to explore an empty drive.

Same reason why you would get the exact same error when you try and explore an empty floppy disk drive.

You might have the same problem if you try to deposit $0.00 into your bank account. There's nothing there!

Umm... ok but I've always been able to do this, but I just recently reformatted my computer.

I used to be able to right click>explore the blank disc. Then drag files there to burn.

But now I can't.

Did you install packet-writing software? It has to be running in the background. Maybe the service in XP is disabled. Never been a packet-writing fan, so don't know the whole deal about it.

I have no clue what that is lol...

This is exactly why I switched to a Mac, stupid Microsoft

k so I'm stupid cause Microsoft decided to block some feature that I've been using for the past 5 years on XP out of no where.

ok.

Anyways, do you know how to fix it? I don't like having to network my files and having to burn them on my mac.

Oops, I thought you were saying that you switched to Mac and are having the problem now.

Anyhow, don't know how to fix it, since I stopped using packet-writing almost ten years ago (lost some data), nor do I have the XP Burning Service installed (IMAPI, I think it is called). But I would start by going to google and doing a search for: "packet writing" +xp. If you don't even know how it works, you're not going to know how to fix it.
