retail stores that might have chunky heeled boots?

Hey all,

My wife has been looking just about everywhere for a certain type of boot that were more popular a few years ago. They had the chunky square heel, square toe and a bit of a platform. She is looking for knee high as well.
I would try and order one online, but as expected she wants to try them on first (She's really short and has small feet).

Any suggestions would be nice. I don't know if the Aldo outlet in Toronto, or Dixie outlet mall would have anything.

Why is your wife looking for these now, that heel is out of style. I have a pair almost identical to them, but never wear them anymore, and yeah, I got them at Nine West, one of my favourite shoe stores. Actually Jimmy Choo rocks most, but hell spending $2000 for a pair of shoes will only make sense when I'm in a higher income bracket....lol.

My wife wants heels that she can wear in the winter with some stability. She has weak ankles and she's really really short so she wasn't looking for something "in style" per say, but more practical.

She complains that the heels in store are too thin (even the wedges) for walking in somewhat slippery conditions and already has those fuzzy ones

I did find a pair at Sears. and a pair at one of the stores at Scarborough Town. Don't remember the name but it's next to Soft Moc.

Need the height but no sense in killing myself on ice in the winter. Aldo definitely does not have them.

Yes, these type of boots are out of style now but you can still find them at places like zellers, walmart etc. I doubt you will be able to find a pair in leather

I also have small feet and fit into kids sizes, sometimes the girls section will still carry these styles since little girls shouldn't/couldn't wear stilettos

I don't understand why women need to wear heels in the winter.
I'm a woman/girl and would most likely never wear heels in the winter.
You walk through so much snow, ice rocks, snowstorms 2 or 3 feet of snow quite often......why wear heels so you can ruin them???:confused:

I know you can usually find some platform shoes at more higher end stores- maybe not such chunky shoes though.

I know Hush Puppies has some cute boots with a bit of a heel for winter that are good for outside. They might be $120+ tho.
Not too sure as I bought some @ the shoes company over 2 years ago.

Right now for winter I have merrell snow mocs and also some waterproof hiking shoes as I hate boots w insulation.

I would say check Hush Puppies or Aerosoles.
