Well this is probly why there also lowering 3870 prices to make them midrange then.

Take with a rather large grain of salt .. this stuff is pretty far off .. and there are some reports of all this being bs.

I don't get why they would use GDDR5 memory when their flagship 4870's memory speed is slower than 3870 memory speed. Is it not more expensive to use GDDR5 instead of GDDR4 memory and run them at GDDR4 speeds?

Lower power consumption plus another 'point' to use for marketing purposes??

Right now it's way too early to speculate on the next gen stuff. I'll believe it when I see it, and when I see it I won't be telling you guys ;)

Based on what I think I know, this article is BS.
