I need some help in figuring out what is the problem with my computer. I recently just built a computer. When I turn it on to put Windows XP pro 64bit, nothing happens to the screen (blank screen). I don't here any noise that might indicate any problems. I did get my computer checked from a computer tech. He said that the motherboard was faulty. I returned it to the manufacture and just received it back. Took about a month to get it back. Now it seems that I have the same problem. I'm not too sure what to do. Please Help
Here is what I have
Q6600 Quad core
ASUS P5K/WIFI-AP
2GB OCZ Platinum DDR2
Western Digital 500G
EVGA E-GEFORCE 8600GTS 675MHZ 256MB 2GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E
OCZ Game Xstream 700Watt

Did you plug in the monitor lol :P jk
Yes make sure you have the right cpu and that everything sits good in its place, if the motherboard doesnt beep on startup it could be lots of things.

LOL.
I used to build and sell computers. I remember turning on a computer at a customer's site and having the monitor not display anything. I brought it back to my supplier and sheepishly watched him turn up the brightness.
One other issue however, might be the resolution you have the monitor set at. For example, my Dell LCD won't display anything in safe mode.

Which cpu do u have ... this could be a problem if you have an E8x00 series chip as you'll need to flash the bios to the newest version to get the computer to boot (using a difference cpu of course ... taking it to the store they should do it for you or at least loan u at cpu to do it with)
