Hey guys,

So heres my setup ... I have Sony 32" KDL32S3000, IBM T42 laptop with onboard sound card and just got my Logitech Z5500 :cheesygri

Now ..... I need a decent 5.1 USB or PCMCIA sound card with Digital or Optical in/out so I can hook up my Z5500 with my laptop or TV. I dont PC gaming at all. I would only use the sound card for music or high def movies in ac3.

Which one should I get guys ? Recommendations ... ?;)

have you looked at the M-Audio Transit? it seems like a good soundcard for notebook users.

When I used my notebook as my main computer, I used a Philips Aurilium USB Sound card and it worked fine with my x530's though, I have since switched to a desktop with an onboard sound card with my speakers, I haven't noticed a difference in quality.

I'm not sure if the product is even in production anymore though...

I dont have much experience with those. So you just plug in via optical or coaxial and you are good to go with 5.1 ?

How about this? (http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/toshibadirect.to?page=multimediacenter)

I happen to have a brand new one that I might sell. :)

May I ask why you need a digital input? I can see why you want digital outputs, of course.
