Picked up my mail today and had something from Princess Cruises. I have mail forwarding on my old address till April, and am still receiving a few pieces of mail here and there

So I call them to get these stopped. I don't want things like this going to my old address after my mail forwarding stops.

Anyway, they say they cant take me off unless I mail them a form saying I want to be removed.

So I say "your telling me I need to spend $1.10 (or whatever it is to mail to the States) to tell you I want you to stop sending me stuff I never even asked for"

She laughed and understood the situation, but said thats all she could do.

Now I know its only $1.10, but its the principle of the thing.

I think the next one I get, if I do before they mail forwarding stops is just put a line through it and say no longer at this address.

Anyway one else come across this. Or if they have, how did u get removed

That's what you get for giving your personal info out to so many of those contests! As you can see, NOTHING in life is free. You have only yourself to blame for this one

Just let them know you are moving and give them your new address. Its alot easier them asking to be removed from the list.

I found an email on their website and sent them the request. We will go from there

Seeing as there's already a sticky for "RFD is not a chat room" there should also be one stating "RFD is not a blog"

But I asked for help, if anyone else has come across this. ISnt RFD about asking and getting help from fellow users.

IN my original post, is there anything wrong with it.

Whats with the users in RFD lately. Everyone is so, hell, I dont even know what word to use

You already got the answer to your question from the person on the phone. Mail the letter asking to be removed, because she already told you that she's not doing it for you.

I just reply to replies. If no one wants these threads kept going, stop replying to them

Get a blog, Like Ive said before, no one is forcing anyone to read a thread, But that doesnt stop them from bitching about them

You put a reply, its fine. I reply to that, and Im the bad guy???????

Write "deceased" on the letter and toss it in a postal box.

Spam their email with every type of porn imaginable? Go bulk on the scat AND bestiality stuff.
In all seriousness, $1.10 to stop sending you mail? Now that's a new one. You could always just write "return" in big fat red until they stop.

Why does getting a single piece of junk mail every couple of months or so bother people so much? Just toss it in the recycling box and be done with it. It'll certainly take less effort than you complaining about it and sure there's an argument about how junk mail wastes paper, but then you would have to say the same about all the paper wasted in offices, unused coupons or bank transaction statements as well.

I dont care that its junk mail, I care its going to my old address. You know, you get the credit card things with your name all over them as well. I dont want the new owners receiving things like that with my name all over it.

Thats they stuff they say to shred so dumpster divers dont get it

Do the credit card companies get your info from these contests as well and mail those card applications to you in the mail?

Who knows. I was receiving that kind of stuff way before I ever started entering contests
