THERE IS A BLACK NOKIA N80 WITH THE BLUETOOTH NOT WORKING ON IT THAT HAS BEEN MAKING THE ROUNDS IN THE BST CELL PHONES FORUM.
here's the story about the phone as I know it:
I traded a Nokia N73 for this black N80 to the RFD member GodofGamblers about 3-4 weeks ago. We met at Scarborough Town Centre where we did the trade and I tested everything but the bluetooth connection due to being in a rush but GodofGamblers had assured me everything was working. When I got home I tried to connect my bluetooth headset and discovered that the bluetooth wasn't working. Bascially the phone wouldn't turn on the bluetooth connection. I tested the phone and everything else worked fine. I tried contacting GodofGamblers to ask him about the phone but he didn't reply to my PMs or return my calls and hasn't logged into RFD since Feb. 28th... I got scammed. So decided to put it back up for sale on RFD since I need bluetooth.
I put up my for sale posting where I clearly stated that the bluetooth wasn't working. The RFD user "mecha" contacted me about the phone and I explicitly told him through PM's, on my FS listing and over the phone, that the bluetooth wasn't functional on the phone (I still have PMs from mecha that prove I told him about it). I even showed him how the bluetooth wouldn't turn on when we met for me to sell to him and he still bought the phone. I got home and left mecha feedback and he never did so for me.
Weeks go by and today I get a PM from the RFD user luckiecookie asking me if I sold a nokia N80 to the user mecha and had told him about the bluetooth not woking. I replied to him and told him that yes I sold the phone to mecha and yes I told mecha that the bluetooth wasn't working... looks like luckiecookie got scammed too but haven't heard mecha's side of the story.
Almost at the same time I received a message from RFD user Aznkid2000 over MSN (he had previously tried to work out a trade for the N80 with me before I sold it to mecha). Aznkid2000 tells me that he bought the phone off someone on RFD (luckiecookie) and was asking me for advice on where to get it repaired.
I feared that luckiecookie had scammed Aznkid2000 too but luckiecookie said that he didn't know bluetooth wasn't working when he sold it to Aznkid2000. I asked Aznkid2000 if luckiecookie told and he told me that luckiecookie said he never tested it. I'm not sure about any other details of this transaction.
Now I'm writing this warning here to make sure that no one else gets scammed with this phone... in the past 3 weeks it's changed hands 4 times without people being told or knowing about it being broken.
ALSO watch out for mecha and GodofGamblers as they both LIED when they sold the phone to people. They both knew that they were selling a defective phone and neglected to tell the buyers. The fact that GodofGamblers didn't return my PMs or calls and hasn't even logged into the site under that name since the week after I dealt with him is further proof of his guilt.
SCAMMER WARNINGS - GodofGamblers and possibly mecha (still have yet to hear his side of things)
