Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew!, is a new competitive dance reality show pitting 12 of the country's best street and studio dance crews against each other. This is the first televised competition for full hip-hop crews, rather than individual performers. Each week one team will be eliminated until the final team is left standing and wins the title of "America's Best Dance Crew". In the end, only one crew reigns supreme on the dance floor and wins a cash prize and touring contract. Mario Lopez (Dancing With The Stars) hosts, alongside a panel of judges which include J.C. Chasez (*NSYNC), Shane Sparks (You Got Served, So You Think You Can Dance) and hip-pop sensation Lil Mama.

Anybody watch this show? I’m definitely a fan of JabbaWockeeZ and they should win in the upcoming finale. Kaba Modern also has a pretty good crew.

I watched some of the episodes and the show looks pretty cool. I think its the JabbaWockeeZ who wear the white masks, and it looks uber cool.

I don't remember the name of the group, but its from Boston and I think the name is K-Otiq. Well anyway, there is one member in that group who also appeared in "So You Think You Can Dance". I don't know if it was mentioned in the show or not.

i couldn't believe that kaba modern got eliminated this week, i thought that status quo was all over the place.. i heard something about the whole thing being staged and i wouldn't be surprised.. i mean i watched all 3 dances this week a few times on youtube and i don't see how jabbawockeez should have been in the bottom two.. this totally messed things up because between jabbawockeez and kaba modern i'd probably pick jabba.. but jabba shouldn't have been in the bottom two in the first place!

i'm honestly really disappointed that kaba got eliminated, i was hoping for a huge showdown between them and jabbawockeez in the finals and i'm sure many MANY fans wanted to see that. now i predict a jabbawockeez crushing of status quo.. and i hope status quo wins like.. 1% of the entire voting population :evil:

anyway having said all that, jabbawockeez are really talented and their dances have been really enjoyable to watch. and yuri tag from kaba is :cheesygri

If Jabba doesn't obliterate Status Quo, and they actually make it seem like it was close, I will lose all faith in this show.

Jabba has been the only group IMO to stand out. Kaba had the girls and they have perfected their isolations but besides that, give me a T.O dance group or MTL breakdance group any day.

Yeah its pretty suprising, making many think it was rigged.

They could've done it so that both the black audience and asian audience will be tuned in.

Or, the more realistic reason (assuming they did rig it) was so that it would be an East coast crew vs. a West coast crew. So now they have more of an audience watching across America, as opposed to just the West Coast.

Its similar to the problem in the NBA right now. The western conference is SOOOOO much better than the eastern conference, and some of the teams that dont' crack the top 8 playoff spots in the west, have much better records than many of the last few playoff spots in the east.

Many are arguing for the NBA to change it so that the best teams of both conferences will make it to the playoffs, but it'll never happen. Why? Because it'll take away the concept of East vs. West, and TV/marketing reasons alone, will all go down the crapper.

So perhaps its a similar situation to that.

Lol my bad, i'm not trying to stir up a racial issue. I honestly do believe that IF in fact it was rigged, the more likely reason would be so that we'd have an East vs. West coast, thus getting better TV ratings. Considering that this show is in its first season, I'm sure they'd want their finale to do well.

But again, as much as Kabba/Jabba seem better than Status Quo, perhaps SQ just had more supporters who vote. America gets to decide, so if you get a couple thousand people who continuously vote for you, then you're set.

But I would be *really* shocked if Jabba ended up losing this competition.

The superman thing was episode 3. (the audition ep not counted). MM shows new episodes only on sundays, the ones you see are probably just re-runs of that previous ep or some kind of marathon where they show all of the episodes that aired.


And if JabbaWockeeZ don't win, then there's no hope for a season 2.

The problem, I think, was that Kaba was just far too technical. Kaba performances are always technically excellent but the lack of big tricks probably hurt them. It's sort of like on American Idol how you can botch a whole song and still redeem yourself with that one 'power note'. LOL

I also though maybe Kaba was too 'clean' for America to appreciate them in a contest like this. Oh well.

one of the reasons that i've seen being suggested as to why kaba was eliminated (other than what has been talked about before - ratings, wider viewing population etc) is exactly what you brought up.. kaba is extremely talented but when it comes to doing "stunts" such as flips or bboy moves, they're lacking. and i know many many people like to see that sort of stuff (including me). SQ had some of those but it was just so hard to watch.. if you watch jaba and kabba you can see them all as a group, then maybe at times a few people will stand out. for me, SQ was just a bunch of guys doing their own thing at times, and i wasn't able to really focus my attention on one guy or the entire group.

but yeah right now i just hope jabba stomps over SQ.

Saw the audition, and the 1st episode yesterday. I'm gonna say it was pretty good, aside from the crap performance from Xtreme Dance Force. Pure garbage!

I dislike So Real Cru. I don't know but something about their dancing and personalities portrayed on TV just make dislikable to me.

For the finale, I hope Super Crew wins. They have had to battle out for a long time now and seem to have a fire that So Real Cru doesn't look like they have. To the person hating on super crew because they are a bunch of bboys just put together. Wiki says that they actually formed in 2000 comprising of 3 bboy crews. Thus 6 members were chosen to come on teh show. Chris of Jabbawockeez is a member of SuperCrew as well. He is seen regularly sporting the Super Crew shirt.

Even though Shane Sparks been riding the Jabba's nuts from day 1. Jabba and Kaba were the 2 best crews of the 1st season. This season however I feel SuperCrew will take it. If anyone deserves to win season 2, it was Fanny Pak... I'll admit, the first couple of shows, I thought they were a 'gimmick', but I'd say from this season, the most memorable and 'wow' performances came from them...

With Super Cr3w and SoReal Cru in the finals (filipinos represent!), I'd have to say the judges have been siding with Super Cr3w all season long because of their 'resume'... yes they're the top b-boys in the world, but it doesn't mean they're automatically deserving of winning ABDC...

there are no east coast crews left lol. So Real Cru auditioned in teh south and Super Crew in teh West.

You may think the show is rigged because of 1st season but there are signs it wasn't. People in the east supported Status Quo and THe west split votes between Jabba and Kaba. Another possibility is Jabba and Kaba fans thought Status Quo was done no matter what so didn't feel the need to vote.

No is consistent as Jabba. They owned that show.

I don't think the judges are siding with Super Crew because of their 'resume'. People forget that these are bboys trying to win a choreograph 'dance' show. BBoy is dancing but its not anything like the other crews do with synchro moves, etc. At first they only did tricks but now are incorporating more dance routines that still keep their whole routine quite good.

Wiki lists 3 dances this week. one is a world's dance, one is create your dance craze, and final performance. Hopefully Super Crew bring it and win the show and the Jabbwockeez outright support of SuperCrew gets them some more votes.

I would say of the two groups left, Super Cr3w deserves it more. Some of the stuff they do is just ridiculous. So Real Cru is really good, but just not as consistent. Fanny Pak was definitely the most creative group, it's a shame they didn't make it to the finals.

Today's the Season Finale!! well for the folks in the U.S. that is. SuperCr3w will take it, I'm pretty confident on that. The show is all about being marketable and profits. Like Jabba for instance, they were chosen to win, because they knew even after the show they were able to sell because they are marketable and ppl will remember them for their masks, that's all they needed. I'm guessing the whole summer tours they did raked in some good coin.

SoReal is pretty much a poorman's Kaba Modern. If they do win, no one can really make a point and say 'I remember them because of this' but with SuperCr3w, people will remember them as the bboyers of the show and with high flying stunts. Similar to Status Quo, but better in their own styles IMO.

So Real crew has nice choreorgraphy and are great dancers, and I agree with the similarities with Kabba Modern but I would not say they are the 'poor man' version since they are putting on a hella show. In the end, still Supercrew FTW because they actually excite me and I am wowed by their stunts and performance. Much more memorable than So Real.

SuperCrew wins 2nd Season!!! Now they need to have a dance off with JabbaW (or at least they should have done that at the end of the finale). SuperCrew are not as tight dance wise or as creative as Jabba, but their tricks have a better wow factor IMO

i like jabba a lot more cause the difficulties in dancing in a crew instead of 1 on 1 is that you have to be tight, and sync... something i think they are much better than supercrew...

Just an update, but MTV aired a new episode recently (a low quality version can be found on youtube)

It consists of Jabba and Super Crew dancing together from a Shane Sparks routine.

Then a 5 crew competition to determine which crew gets to present an award at the VMA's. The crews competing were Kaba Modern, Status Quo, BreakSk8, So Real Cru and Fanny Pak.

All the dance groups on this show are pretty bad... if you've ever seen any independent underground groups, you would agree.

For season two I'd have to agree with ya, but Jabbawockeez sorry they're choreography kicks ass and they were independent in 2003 and up. Look at some of their full performances on YouTube.
