View Full Version : Catalyst drivers for non-Built By ATI graphics cards

interested in getting a ATI-based graphics card that is NOT built by ATI (e.g. built by Sapphire etc).

Do these cards use the same Catalyst drivers from the ATI website? Reason I'm asking is that I want to use it with Ubuntu and I know that ATI has drivers.

Yep, just like Nvidia, you can use ATi's Catalyst drivers on 3rd party cards.

The drivers are designed for the chip. So it will work with any manufacturer.

Hey, what do you think a used BBA x1950 Pro should go for?

I just need something sorta low-end. I've got an x700 so I want to move up the chain a little bit...

It should be relatively inexpensive since it does not support DirectX 10.
