So.. the other day our 3100 receiver crapped out on us. Called up Bell and got a deal on a new one... a 5920 (has a PVR, standard definition).
I love the PVR aspect of it.. stopping, pausing, rewinding live tv .. etc..
however...
it seems like it goes in slow motion. when scanning the channels, my old 3100 would motor through the listing.... this one.... there is a sort of delay... heck.. when I press the "guide" button it takes about 2 seconds for the guide to show.. when I "info" a program... the info doesn't just "appear".. I can see it open top down (think of opening a picture from the internet on dial-up....) My old receiver was instant.
Another thing... I recorded a show today (two and a half men ... best sitcom on TV.. but I digress...). It seemed that the sound was a hair off the video. I wasn't totally 100% certain.. but I am pretty sure... we aren't talking a lot... just a fraction of a second.
any ideas? Do I have a lemon unit... or is this common with these things?
thanks
M
