I've been looking to order some new 2.1 speakers for my computer for a few months and finally sent away for the Edifier S330D set from NXSource. This online store didn't have them in stock until a few days ago.
I hope it's as good as it sounds (pun intended). My current setup is a set of Altec Lansing 221 (2.1 speakers) and they sound good, but wanted something with more power.
All together, the price came to $106 with shipping to Ontario from B.C. :)
Maybe I'll update everyone on how they sound after I get them and hook them up.

A review would be great after you get them.....

I have the Edifier S2.1D, got it two years ago for about the same price. If they're anything like yours, you'll really enjoy the sound. I would also recommend using a digital connection if possible, the sound quality is even better.

Yes, I'll try to remember to post a review (other poster) when I try them out.
I'm not sure if I have a digital output on my sound card though; it's a Creative X-Fi Extreme Music card.

X-Fi is high end; it should have it.
What are you upgrading from? I'm thinking about some good 2.0 bookshelf speakers myself. The z680s are taking up too much space, especially the sub.

I'm upgrading from Altec Lansing 221 (2.1 speakers).

Well, I got my Edifier S330D speakers today and hooked them up.
I have the sub on the floor and the satellites on my desk. The sub is pretty hefty and the satellites are very beautiful looking.
They sound EXCELLENT! Highs are crystal clear - I can hear things I couldn't before and the bass is very good as well when I set it on high (rotary knob on the back of the sub).
There is a little wired volume/headphone round remote that works very nicely and has a nice, blue fluorescent colour; looks really cool.
Really glad I got these speakers - really sound punchy, even on half volume. No distortion so far at all.
I use the speakers for mostly music, so I don't know how they sound for games, but for music they sound awesome.

Thanks for the review....I have been considering getting these for a second setup. They would be used for music mainly so it looks like the ideal set of 2.1 speakers for music....I use a set of 4 year old Creative Megaworks 550's with Klipsch satellites for my main setup and they sound awesome...Thanks again for the review...

Can I hook up a DVD player to these via the optical input?

Can I hook up a DVD player to these via the optical input?
As long as your DVD player can output Linear PCM, yes.
