Wondering what people think of Google's new "stock picking tool". Was playing around with it a bit, it is actually quite cool and would be good for value investors I think. You can build really complex search criteria and find all stocks and funds that match.

I have used it and it is a good start point to finding some stocks that you should do more research on.

I don't think so. TSX isn't listed as one of the exchanges.

Looks like a useful tool if you don't have any companies in mind, I guess, but I usually go the other way, see a company I find interesting, and then look through their financial data.

Like I said - I think it is ideal for value investors!

Very nice for the basic fundamentals... tried looking into the technical indicators but none are there. :(

be careful with ratios/financial data on google.....reliability is a concern :)

for example, don't assume the EPS, PE, dividend yield etc you see on google are correct. Always verify against another source, or calculate it yourself if you can.

Not a bad design for screener though....

I used the one included with my TDW account.

http://www.globeinvestor.com/v5/content/filters.html appears to be free, however.

My criteria is the stock will go up in value and make me rich. Can the stock picker tell me what these stocks are?

I find the best places to look for value stocks are the daily 52-week lows and recent insider buys.
