Is this even possible?
I was thinking of buying a used car in maybe Buffalo, but what are the steps I have to go through to bring a used car from USA to Canada?
Costs?

It is impossible to buy used cars from the US. It is also not possible that there might exist a 940+ page thread on RFD on this very subject.

lol

You buy a used car just like you would in Canada. You find someone who wants to sell you one, then you pay them for the car. then you get the title changed over into your name, and get a bill of sale.

The slight difference with bringing a car across the border is you need to have US Customs export check the title, then you import it in to Canada by paying the necessary taxes/duty and fees. The end.

Now go search for the massive thread of doom.

allow me to correct you. The other thread http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=307601
talks about NEW CARS.
I am looking for a USED car, not a new one, else I wouldn't be posting this thread.
Thanks for the sarcasm

You're welcome. But if you had looked at some of the hundreds of postings in that very thread, you would have noticed that it talks about new and used... good luck in your purchase. All information about importing can be found in that very thread... I should know, brought 2 cars over myself in the last few months.

Even if you had ignored the 940+ pages in the thread and just bothered to read the very first post, you would have noticed that it says it's for NEW or USED cars ...

What if the used car is older than 15 years? Its not on the admissible list, so the "15 years or older rule" kicks in?

edit: i got the answer..

Vehicles Over 15 years old (except buses)

All vehicles (except buses) that are over 15 years or older by the date of manufacture are exempt from the Registrar of Imported Vehicles program. You must be able to prove the age of the vehicle to a Customs officer.
