I will need to mail out a photo DVD from GTA to 10 or more addresses in the USA (different states). I am just wondering what would be the cost for each shipment if I use Canada Post? Do I need to put the DVD in a bubble envelope or they sell a DVD mailing square envelope? Do Canada Post have such things as media mailing rate like USPS? Any advantage for using Venture Account?

Sorry for a long list of questions but I have never sent anything to US before. Just tried to save a few bucks.

I recently sent a wii game (in its original case) to a friend in the States using a bubble envelope for $4. It took about a week to arrive. When they calculate the shipping rate, they consider weight and dimensions of the package (as well as speed of delivery of course). If you keep your packaging small enough so it will fit through a mail slot, it should be cheaper.

Take a look at the Canada Post site for specifics:

If your photo CD already comes with its own case, using bubble envelopes should probably be cheaper than Canada Post's special envelopes/packaging. You can get the bubble envelopes from dollar stores for cheap. Alternatively, you might also consider getting those cardboard CD mailers (the kind the AOL CDs used to come in). This way you'd just be sending each CD like a thicker envelope. I'm not sure where you'd buy them, though.

If you're using a normal DVD case (the black ones), then you can fit it into a small bubble envelope and it should cost $1.92 to send it for under 100grams. Even if you go over, it should not be more than $3.20 for 100-200grams. DVD cases are pretty light so that's why I suggest sending it via Letter-Post. Keep in mind that Letter-Post doesn't offer any insurance options (at least I don't think it does).

Interesting question for the Travel forum lol... I guess it doesn't specify whether it is human or inanimate object travel.
