I just saw this in another forum and my friend that's working in Microsoft confirmed it as well, although in this MSN page they said only MSNers in China will count but I guess it won't hurt to just simply put a little rainbow in front of your nickname!....

The default for the 'rainbow' is (R) ...

And for every 10 people you forward that other e-mail to, they'll build a school in africa.

Oh, and if you don't forward that one about your account being deleted to 50 people they'll suspend your service. Buy in Buy in!

So the earthquake made everyone gay-friendly?
Hey, we need some earthquakes in the US bible-belt.

Click on the link on the cn.msn.com website. It's "[募捐] MSN彩虹签名援助震区 重建灾区学校" leads you to the same page

Just curious, what maDe (yes, you probably know you were wrong by now) you even *think* that msn.com.cn is NOT a Microsoft website?

Just as what Cospa has confirmed, if you can read Chinese, you can see that this is legit.

It IS legit. Just because it doesn't end in .com and in .cn doesn't make it fake people. A lot of companies' websites in HK and China end in .hk and .cn.

I'ved added it, do your part even if it is only for MSN in China. At least it shows you care.

My friend told me to put it in front of my msn but she never told me it applies to HK/China users only.

*remove the flamboyant rainbow from my msn*

this is on the china MSN official site
http://img2.cn.msn.com/images/11.jpg

and it leads to:
http://info.msn.com.cn/caihong/rainbow.html

This is truly a brilliant campaign by Microsoft. Not only can Microsoft help the victims in the Earthquake, this can also help strengthen their user base in the China market. A win-win outcome for everyone.

Yahoo and others can really learn from MS.

(Insert joke about Rainbow 6 video game here.. I can think of a few, but I'm not sure they're appropriate for this site) :D

c'mon guys..
this is not about being gay or wtever..
there are thousands who have lost their lives and homes because of this..
if this helps, why not?

please keep the stupid comments to yourself and away from this topic..

all the money was intended towards a rebuilt of the school in the area..
the school is going to be named as 'rainbow primary school'..
taking the meaning that there would be hope after rain..

They won't donate any money.

Microsoft is actually doing a lot to help the earthquake victims. Not only is it contributing money and technology to the relief efforts, but it's also matching all donations made by its employees. There's a lot of fund-raising going on right now organized by individual groups at Microsoft, and at times like these, Microsoft is usually the first company to step up and help.

as for MS how can they track this MSN name change and is there a time limit ...?

If you log on from another computer into your account, you can see the same name that you have on the other computer. They store it on the server somewhere so it is definately trackable.
