In general ear phones, ear buds, don't stay in my ears, even when I'm not working out, just something about my ears.

Can anyone recommend a comfortable pair that will stay in my ears even when running on the treadmill.

Thanks.

you would probably need a set of neckband headphones

I can run with pretty much any earbuds, currently use the basic ipod ones which I'm okay with up to an hour at a time. Also use a sony bud in-ear phones and they're great as well.

One race I saw this guy had tape all over his ears to keep the buds in..looked pretty crazy but whatever works..:-0

It has got to be me, I always look at those people with ear buds and wonder how they get them to stay in.

I can't wear the ipod ones either, they are too big for my ears.
I got a pair of the sony ones, because they weren't really expensive, and they fit much better and sound better too

the stock ipod/creative buds don't stay in my ears, but these do the trick.

They also come w/ 3 different sizes.

If you really want your earphones to stay in when running get a pair of IEMs (in ear monitors, which are made by Shure, Etymotic, Ultimate Ears, etc), but there will usually be microphonics associated with running with IEMs on.

I use some cheapo Sony ones with clips.. they're amazing for staying on and sound good to boot.

I have these..
I find I have to blare the music to hear anything clearly, plus they are FAR too tinny.

I would HIGHLY recommend these: http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=586791 I run with them everyday and as long as you take care of the excess wire (as with any headphones) they will not fall out guaranteed. You have to be careful as you cannot hear anything else around you, so be very aware of your surroundings. Plus not everyone likes in ear buds. Personally I'm a super pick guy with headphones in regards to sound and comfort...these things for $15 are phenomenal.
I've had a pair for the last year for running/working/sleeping and imo thats the best test of headphones. I just purchased 2 more simply because of the deal. the same ones are still running great :)

Etymotic earphones fit nicely inside your ear and wont fall out when running. Plus they isolate sound so once you put it on and you turn on the music you wont hear anything but music. let me know im selling one for cheapp :cheesygri

which is very dangerous for running. And sometimes you can hear your footsteps and/or the cord hitting your chest. I would not recommend IEMs for running.

I'd recommend the V-Moda Vibes. They're kind of a cross between buds and IEM's. They stay in place and don't fall out and have decent isolation, but don't have the total isolation that blocks out all noise like IEM's usually have, so you won't have the problem of hearing your own panting and breathing. They also sound pretty good for the price.

Man, talk about the hunt for the Holy Grail.

Been looking and trying for this for 4-5 years! I probably bought and tried 10-12 different products. Sony MDR-EX81, Sony MDR-J10, Creative EP630, Sennheiser CX300, JVC HP-FX77, Koss KSC-75, ...

The best one for me were the Sony MDR-EX81. In-ear and over the ear setup meant they stayed in place with good sound. Major major problem: after 4-6 months, the cable just disintegrate! Tried 3 pairs with the same result.

The other major problem with most of those in-ear models is the sweat simply shorts them and one or both ear stops working.

Lesson I learned: No expensive headphones for running.

For me, what works now is the Koss KSC-75 if I run outside (need to hear traffic) and, to my great surprise, the Skull Candy for the inside. Picked up 2 pairs at 13$ each at TSCC. Cable is not too long, fit is good and the earbuds maybe a bit longer so the sweat can't get in. At this price, real bargain and a real surprise for me.

Hope this can help. Good luck.

Yeah the KSC-75's are a good option as well. Koss makes good headphones for the price. Only problem I had with mine was the fit, the part that hooks around the ear gets loose pretty easily and makes a good fit difficult for some people.

This is why I love running in winter. The head gear keeps the headphones on.

Still haven't found the perfect pair for spring summer and fall though

Well first off don't run with any earphones out on the road!

Now that is out of the way, and since you did mention you are running on a treadmill let me help you out. My ipod earphones won't stay in either so I got an IEM (in ear monitor). Yes it will isolate all the sound around you and stay in your ear. The issue is that you can usually hear the rustle of the cable grazing you body thats why i recommend Shures ( mine are se115) they have a two piece cable. So I just use it with my shuffle and clip it to my collar and no issues what so ever.

IEM wont work if you sweat excessively in the ears because then you'd short circuit them which I did to my iphone headphones, but my IEMs are working fine.

second that...be careful outside with headphones...

I use JVC "Marshmallows" I've seen them for $10 i think at FS. Squeeze em and stick em in your ear....I modded mine to use the iphone cord (love the clicky/mic feature, hated the factory ear buds that fall out). Sound quality is okay but not for audiophiles....doesnt matter to me since most of my content is spoken, not music.

I personally can't stand in-ear headphones (with the silicon tips) when running:

a. They tend to fall out once you start sweating
b. Dangerous if you run outside
c. The amplify the chaffing sound when the cord rubs against clothing.

I actually found the best solution to be those old school foam/sponge covers over the stock the iPod headphones. Not only does it reduce slippage, it also helps the buds fit more snugly into the ear.

Best of all, you can purchase 4-8 pairs for a $1 at your local "independent" discount/dollar store.

I use wireless bluetooth Mortorola S9-HD.
So far I'm quite happy with them
