there is no contest... no low budget LCD can compare with a plasma

hell... even tvs like teh XBR4 don't look nearly as good as a good plasma. Plasma are just capable of so much better colors that they are in a league of their own

I picked up the 42" of this for the $899 price at FS coming on Tuesday from the warehouse..

then decided to go to 2001 A&V and the guy couldn't match the 42" at all and said that was below cost...but said he could give me the 50" if i wanted at $1399 + tax

$1399 is the cheapest I have seen or been offered this and he also said good luck getting someone else to match that...

Is it worth the extra $500 to move up 8" ?? thats my question now..or do I just sit tight with the 42" for now...

Any suggestions or comments??

1 thing i did notice was the 50" seems to have alot of glare on the screen compared to some other plasmas....

decisions decisions.........hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Seems like a good deal. Walmarts recent flyer has a Samsung 50" Plasma on the cover for $1597.63 but don't know if it's the same model. Makes this deal look pretty good and the Sears deal pretty hot with the free LG system.

I got the Hitachi P50V701 50" Plasma - $1299 from TD last week. All I can say is
this is the best plasma for the price. Picture is so amazingly life like. Good conversion of SD signals too.

Hitachi is the #1 selling brand in Japan for good reason. If TD gets more in stock . This is the one to get hands down.

I'm glad you likethe plasma... but don't come in here and attempt to get people to buy that over this one.. They aren't even in the same league. Hitachi is fairly low end plasmas... what's more this is a year old model now and it wasn't even at teh top when it came out

I'd like to hear more about this 58", maybe in a new thread. I'd kinda like to move up from a 42".
