I have already checked ebay for a replacement lcd, and i was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for laptop repair stores in the gta, markham or surrounding areas, so i can get an idea of how much it would cost compared to me buying the lcd and replacing it by myself or if i can just purchase a lcd in the gta without resorting to ebay. btw its a toshiba satellite M70.
thanks!

I want to know too... The LCD backlit of my fujitsu was gone and I wonder where I can bring it to fix, or where can I get the parts to replace it myself...

Use eBay as a price guide. Most replacement LCDs cost between $150-$250 depending on resolution/size. Since laptop prices are plummeting you need to weigh repairs vs. buying new. For Acers you just buy new because many RFDers report a replacement cost them over $250 (and Futureshop has those $399 | $499 deals).
Another important concern is your inverter. Is it your LCD or inverter that requires replacement. Not every seller gives you the inverter along with LCD. Any you should purchase the identical parts number for your laptop because inverter jacks are not compatible.
Should you do it yourself or ask an installer? If you have nylon tools then you can replace a LCD in about 1 hour. Otherwise the tight bezel causes problems and you might scratch the screen. Personally, if replacing costs more than $200 I'd part-out each component for sale - it's not worth repairing.
--> post your model number & date of purchase here so we can hunt down replacements. Laptops are like cars, you can't say "I need an engine for a civic," because each new platform requires a different engine.

sorry for not stating it before but the inverter is not broken, my lcd is cracked due to being placed in a bag and thrown around...lol so the lcd is the only thing that needs replacement.
btw thanks for the reply!
