Anyone know the cheapest airfare? So far the cheapest I have found is through Air Canada.
Thanks for your input.

Only 2 airlines fly the route, AA and AC. DFW is absolutely dominated by AA, something like >80% of the flights there are operated by AA.
Throw your dates into www.sidestep.com and see what it gives you. Because of the Wright Amendment, Southwest's service to Dallas is fairly limited (to Love Field) --- so there's not a lot of out of state competition to DFW.

Yeah I hear DFW residents get absolutely fleeced on airfares because there's basically only one carrier that has a monopoly on the whole airport... :( .
But as an airport, I don't think there is a more efficient one in America than DFW. Its quite a monster. And gazillions of AA DC-9's, they're like rodents  .

Not sure when you want to go but from Buffalo is $240.00 and up.

You mean the MD Super 80s (MD-80 series). I hate those things. I've never been on one, nor do I want to be considering the dodgy past of Douglas/MD aircraft. I go out of my way to take AA flights on the 738 instead, or fly another airline.

I actually booked my flight from Buffalo rather than Toronto. It is much cheaper. If you can tolerate the drive to Buffalo Airport the flight is much cheaper than flying out of Toronto...bu then again....take parking into consideration aswell....unless someone can drive you across the border to the Airport...then you've got it made.

It's not ALWAYS cheaper to go through BUF once the trip there is taken into account.

Go ask a travel agent and ask for UA since its hub is in Dallas. You may have to stop over somewhere but I'm guessing UA would be your best bet.

Are you sure UA hub is in Dallas? I don't think this is true.
UA hubs that I know are Washington Dules, Denver, Chicago, San Fran

Dallas is American Airlines' main hub, not United's.

Yup.. mistaken AA for UA. Man.. I had an awful connection/route from Orlando to Dallas back to Toronto. I know its weird.. but it was free.

DC-9-80 = MD-80. Go look at the placard just as you enter the aircraft. They're all DC-9's IMO.

I won't ever fly one, so there will be no placard to look at lol. It's a derivative of the DC-9 so I guess it's valid to call them that even if that's not what they're commonly referred to as. It's too bad AA has so many of them. I almost flew one once but my schedule changed allowing me to take a 738 flight. Maybe one day when I have no choice whatsoever.

I flew from DTW (Detroit) to DFW via AA a few months ago. It saved me around $150/ticket rather than flying out of YYZ. I checked BUF but no direct flights available.
One thing to note, if you're coming back to Detroit, make sure your flight lands before 5p, as by the time we got our luggage and everything, I didn't get home till after 1a, and I was so dead tired from driving.

What scares you about them? The intrinsic problem with stall recovery owing to the T-tail (basically the tail mounted controls lose authority in a stall, making recovery from a stall pretty much impossible)?
Or just the interiors, their age, etc?
