View Full Version : 2008 CRV cash incentive + gas card?

I took delivery of a new 2008 CRV EX-L at the end of June and took advantage of $3500 cash incentive. A week later I have noticed $1000 gas card being advertised by Honda with every new CRV purchase. Does anyone know if these 2 incentives ($3500 + $1000 gas card) can be combined now?

$3500 is still in place.
Talked to the dealer about this and was given a cold shoulder...:(

As a part of buying a Honda, did the dealer ask you to fill out a "customer satisfaction survey"? I know when I bought my Pontiac G6, the dealership did, and they were borderline desparate to get a perfect rating from me. I used this as leverage for a couple add-ons.
Perhaps, if the same exists for Honda, you can employ the same tactic?

This is a nice thought, but Honda Canada called me and did the survey over the phone before I've noticed the new incentive...:(
Should the dealer come back with anything that they need from me (very unlikely) they should know what to expect.

What if the incentives had ended and Honda called you up asking for the money back. You would say "sorry a deal is a deal". It might sound crappy, it might sound unfair but you made a deal to purchase a car for a specific amount. The fact that you could now get a better deal unfortunatley doesn't change anything.

However..
Paying for something that is $1000 cheaper the next day hurts...
In my opinion what they do is playing some silly little game that does not improve their PR. They should automatically offer price protection for the next month. If the new incentive came out a month later I would probably be OK with that.

I understand your thought. If you were on the fence about buying, I'm sure they would use "the sale ends tomorrow" to convince to buy today but they probably wouldn't say "it'll be cheaper tomorrow" to get you to wait an extra day. Unfortunately there probably isn't much you can do. You can try calling customer services. You might get lucky. :lol:

I purchased a 2007 CRV EX-L in October. One week after I took delivery, Honda announced a $4000 cash rebate on my car. I complained to Honda Customer Service and was told I was out of luck. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told the same thing. As a last resort, I wrote a letter to the CEO of Honda Canada, explaining how I was a loyal Honda Canada customer by not buying my Honda from the US (where I could have saved thousands more dollars) and I deserved better treatment. He agreed and I got my $4000 rebate. It just goes to show it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. Don't be afraid to squeak ... you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Good luck.

Am I right in assuming these cash incentives only apply to the top-tier models?

When I got my 2007 CRV last autumn, I believe there were cash rebates on all Hondas. You had to pay cash (ie no financing or leasing) to get them and they varied depending on models. The less expensive vehicles obviously had smaller rebates.

I went to a dealer here in calgary and was offered $34,000 as the out-the-door price.
Its a cash deal..
$35,190 MSRP
+ $1,540 -PDI
+ $ 600 est. Remote starter
=$37,330 + GST
= $39,196
-$ 3,500 cash rebate
-$ 1,000 customer rebate
=$34,696 . so they have agreed on $34,000.
But I am still gonna wait for another week or so as the current rebates are till July 31, and think that they might throw in extra $$$ in august.

Same vehicle cost me over $2500 more than yours.
8% PST that we have in Ontario just bites.
